Description
UCCC Builders Filler is a polyester resin based filler for filling, building up and smoothing surfaces, supplied here in a 750ml pack. It is made for everyday handy people as well as tradies, and it mixes, applies and sands easily. It suits a wide range of materials, including automotive repair work.
About the formula
This is a thermosetting two-pack polyester filler, so you mix it with its hardener before use. It sets to a hard, sandable finish that holds its shape without shrinking. The paste is off-white or beige-brown. It can be applied to horizontal or vertical surfaces. Once cured, it can be painted or stained.
Where to use it
Indoors: filling and levelling timber, repairing dents and gaps in metal, and general building and renovation repairs.
Outdoors: repairs on exterior timber, concrete, metal and fibreglass. The cured filler is UV resistant.
Automotive: suitable for body repair work.
Suitable materials include metals (including galvanised steel), concrete, fibreglass and timber, plus many other substrates. As with any filler, test a small area first if you are unsure about a particular surface.
How to use it
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of grease, dust, loose paint and rust. Sand or key smooth surfaces for a better grip. Mix only as much filler as you can use in one go, blending in the hardener thoroughly as directed on the pack. Press the mixed filler firmly into the repair, working it in to avoid air pockets. Build it slightly proud of the surface, then let it harden fully. Sand it flush and smooth, then prime and paint or stain as needed.
Important notes
Always follow the mixing directions on the pack, because the amount of hardener affects how quickly the filler sets and how well it cures. Warm conditions speed up setting and cool conditions slow it down. The filler is dry to touch in about 20 minutes, and you should sand it only once it has hardened properly. Close the tin tightly after use. Hardened filler cannot be reused.

Safety
Use with normal care. Work in a well-ventilated area, keep away from heat and open flame, and avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear gloves and safety glasses, and use a dust mask when sanding.
