The Uni-Pro Professional No-Drip Heavy Duty Caulking Gun is a tough manual applicator for tradies and keen DIYers who want clean, controlled beads of sealant or adhesive with less mess and less wasted product. A stop-flow trigger release halts the flow when you let go, so the nozzle stops dripping and you spend less time wiping up.
About the tool
This is a manual caulking gun built from metal and plastic in a yellow and black finish. It has a compound advance for steady, positive delivery of the cartridge contents and a built-in nozzle cleaner for keeping the tip tidy between beads. The trigger and handle are shaped for a comfortable grip and are designed to reduce hand fatigue on longer runs. The barrel rotates, which makes it easier to reach into corners and awkward angles. Uni-Pro has confirmed this is the same product that was previously sold under the Genius name, now under the Professional branding.
Where to use it
Indoors: laying neat beads of sealant or adhesive around baths, basins, benchtops, skirtings, architraves and window frames, and for general fit-out and renovation work.
Outdoors: sealing and bonding jobs around windows, doors, cladding, gutters and other exterior joints, using a cartridge product that is rated for outdoor use.
Use it to dispense caulks, sealants and adhesives supplied in caulking cartridges. Always check the cartridge label to confirm it suits the gun and the job.
How to use it
Retract the plunger, load the cartridge and prepare the nozzle as directed on the cartridge label. Squeeze the trigger steadily to advance the compound and lay a bead. Release the trigger to stop the flow, and use the built-in nozzle cleaner to clear any residue from the tip. Turn the rotating barrel to get a better angle in tight corners. Clean the gun after use and before any leftover product cures on it.
Important notes
This is an applicator only. The sealant or adhesive is sold separately. Packaging may differ from older Genius-branded stock because of the move to the Professional range. The gun does not change the cure time or performance of the product you apply, so always follow that product's instructions and data sheet.
