Description
The Weller WE 1010 is a digital 70W soldering station built for electronics work, supplied as a ready-to-use set with the iron, safety rest and a starter tip. It suits everyone from hobbyists and students through to workshop and trade users who want steady, repeatable results on circuit boards, wiring and small repairs.
About the product
The WE 1010 pairs a one-channel digital power unit (WE1) with a WEP70 soldering iron. A clear LCD and three push buttons make setting and checking the temperature simple. Weller positions it as a step up in power from the WES/WESD stations it replaces, so the iron heats quickly and recovers fast between joints. A temperature lock and password protection help keep your settings from being changed by accident. Standby mode and auto setback reduce energy use and help extend tip life when the iron is left idle. The power unit and iron are ESD safe, and the iron connects through a heat-resistant silicone cable for comfortable, safer handling. The station has also been certified for electrical safety to UL and CE standards.
Where to use it
Indoors: electronics benches, workshops, classrooms and hobby spaces. It suits PCB assembly, electronic kits, radio-controlled models, audio gear repairs, low-voltage wiring, cable assembly, indoor lighting projects, small appliance repairs, crafts and general electrical repairs.
Outdoors: not intended for outdoor use. Keep the station in a dry, sheltered area with a power outlet.
What is included
- 1 x WE1 digital soldering power unit (one channel)
- 1 x WEP70 70W soldering iron with toolless tip change
- 1 x PH70 safety rest
- 1 x ET-series soldering tip
How to use it
Place the station on a stable, heat-safe bench and connect the iron to the power unit. Plug it into a 240V outlet and switch on, then set your working temperature using the buttons and LCD. Wait for the iron to reach temperature, tin the tip and solder as usual, resting the iron in the safety rest between joints. Tips can be swapped by hand by twisting the knurled nut, but only once the iron has cooled. The iron accepts Weller ET-series tips, which are sold separately in a range of screwdriver, conical, long and knife shapes. Weller recommends genuine ET tips.
Important notes
Solder and flux are not included. Choose a solder alloy and diameter that suit your work. Use genuine Weller tips and parts for best performance. Always let the iron and tip cool fully before changing tips or packing away. This station is intended for electronics and light repair soldering rather than heavy plumbing or large-scale metalwork.

Care and storage
Always return the iron to the safety rest when not in use and switch the station off at the wall after soldering. Let the iron cool completely before storing and keep the cable clear of the hot tip. Work in a well-ventilated area, use safety glasses, and keep the station dry and out of reach of children. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for full details.
