The Weller 60W Soldering Iron with LED Halo Ring is a mains-powered iron that lights up your work as you solder, making it easier to see each joint and get a clean result. About the product
A ring of LEDs around the front of the iron gives 360 degree illumination, so the joint stays lit from every angle with no shadow from the iron itself. The moulded pencil-style grip gives good comfort and control for detailed work. The tip is replaceable, so you can swap a worn tip or change to a different shape for the job at hand. An integrated safety rest holds the iron when you set it down, which helps protect you and your workspace.
Where to use it
Indoors: electronics and circuit board work, joining wires, audio equipment repairs, drone builds and general home repairs at the workbench.
Outdoors: not specifically designed for outdoor use. It is a mains-powered iron, so keep it dry and use it in a sheltered, dry spot.
How to use it
- Plug the iron into a 230V mains outlet and let the tip come up to working temperature before you start.
- Use the LED halo ring to light the joint, and heat both parts being joined before you feed in the solder.
- Between joints and when you finish, set the iron in its integrated safety rest.
- To change tips, let the iron cool completely first, then swap the tip for the shape you need.
Compatible replacement tips are sold in 3 packs: Conical 0.4mm (WLTC04IR60), Conical 0.8mm (WLTC08IR60), Screwdriver 2.4mm (WLTS24IR60) and Chisel 6.4mm (WLTCH6IR60).
Important notes
The tip and metal parts of the iron stay very hot while it is plugged in and for a while after it is switched off. Always use the safety rest, and never leave a hot iron unattended. Use only Weller tips designed for the WLIR60 series.

Care and storage
Unplug the iron when you have finished and let it cool fully before you handle the tip or put it away. Wipe the tip as needed while you work and keep it tinned to help it last. Keep the iron and cord away from children, store it somewhere clean and dry, and check the cord for damage before each use.
