The Cabot's Decking Oil Applicator is a purpose-built tool for spreading exterior decking oil or stain over timber, with a lambswool cover that helps you lay down an even coat quickly. It suits DIYers refreshing a deck as well as anyone who wants a faster, tidier way to coat large timber areas than a standard brush.About the productThe applicator has a sturdy metal handle and a rectangular head fitted with a replaceable long nap lambswool cover. The cover holds and releases oil or stain as you work, so it glides along the boards and helps avoid patchy coverage. When the cover wears out, you can swap in a Cabot's Decking Oil Applicator Replacement Sock (sold separately) and keep using the same applicator.Where to use itIndoors: not intended for indoor use.Outdoors: decks and other exterior timber surfaces that need decking oil or stain, such as decking boards, screens and fencing. How to use it Stir your decking oil or stain thoroughly and pour it into a suitable tray or bucket, following the instructions on the coating you are using. Load the lambswool cover and work along the length of the boards with smooth, even strokes. Use a brush for edges, end grain and tight spots the applicator cannot reach. Clean the cover straight after use with the clean-up method recommended for your coating (for example water for water-based products or mineral turpentine for oil-based ones). • Cabot's Deck Clean 1L bottle of exterior timber cleaner Cabot's Deck Clean Timber Cleaner 1L (Concentrate) (2)

Cabot's Cabot's Deck Clean Timber Cleaner 1L (Concentrate)

Cabot's Deck Clean is a concentrated exterior timber cleaner that gets decks, pergolas and weatherboards ready for recoating, supplied here in a 1L bottle that suits small to medium jobs. It lifts dirt, oils, grease and weathering from new and old timber, leaving a cleaner, fresher surface for oil, stain, paint or exterior varnish to grip.About the formulaAn oxalic acid-based, blue liquid concentrate that you dilute with water before use. It is designed to rejuvenate grey, weathered and soiled timber, and to help clear mould and other surface contaminants. It is not a paint remover, although it may lift some old, weathered coatings from timber. It cleans up with water.Where to use itIndoors: not intended for indoor use.Outdoors: decks, steps and handrails, pergolas, weatherboards, window frames, doors, outdoor furniture and other exposed exterior timber, whether bare or previously oiled or stained.Suitable for new and old exterior timber. Protect nearby plants, metal and paintwork that are not to be cleaned. How to use itWear gloves and eye protection. Scrub off heavy dirt or oil with hot soapy water and a stiff broom or brush, then hose the area clean. Cover plants, shrubs, metal and painted surfaces with plastic sheeting. Shake the bottle, wet the timber with a hose, and test a small area first. Mix one part Deck Clean with four parts water in a bucket (use a stronger mix for stubborn stains). Apply generously with a brush or broom, scrub well, and leave on the timber for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with a hose or high pressure water, and do not let the solution dry on the surface. Badly stained decks may need a second pass, harder scrubbing or a pressure washer.Important notesIn hot weather, avoid working in direct sun. Lightly dampen the timber to cool it and work in the shade. If the solution touches plants, metal or paintwork, rinse it off straight away and thoroughly. Wash-off water should be kept out of garden beds. Allow the timber to dry before applying your chosen top coat, and follow the directions on that coating.Specifications Brand Cabot's Product Deck Clean Size 1L bottle Colour Blue Base Oxalic acid based, water-diluted concentrate Dilution 1 part Deck Clean to 4 parts water (stronger for stubborn stains) Application Brush or broom Contact time 10 to 20 minutes Coverage About 10 m² per litre (manufacturer figure) Clean up Water Use Exterior timber SafetyUse outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, and wear gloves and safety glasses. • Cabot's Aquadeck Exterior Decking Oil Merbau 4L tin Cabot's Aquadeck Exterior Decking Oil 4L [Merbau] (2)

Cabot's Cabot's Aquadeck Exterior Decking Oil 4L [Merbau]

In Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Cabot's Aquadeck in Merbau is a water-based, low odour decking oil that protects and enriches exterior timber, supplied here in a 4L pack for decks, pergolas, fences and outdoor furniture. It combines natural oils with an acrylic protective layer, and Cabot's says it lasts twice as long as traditional oil-based decking oils when applied as directed.About the formulaAquadeck uses a dual technology approach. Natural oils soak into the timber to nourish it, while an acrylic barrier forms on the surface to help guard against UV, water, dirt and mould. The Merbau shade gives a lightly pigmented, semi-transparent, matt finish that lets the grain show through. It is water-based, so tools clean up with water, and it is splatter resistant.Where to use itIndoors: not intended for interior use.Outdoors: timber decks, pergolas, fences, gates, screening and garden furniture.Suitable for new, weathered or previously coated exterior timber. Existing coatings can be recoated without sanding if they are at least 30 days old and in good condition. How to use itPreparation depends on the timber: New bare timber: scrub the damp timber with Cabot's New Timber Prep to draw out tannins and oils, then wash with Cabot's Deck Clean. Squeegee off excess water and let the timber dry for at least 1 hour (longer in cool conditions). Alternatively, let new timber weather for 4 to 6 weeks (about 2 weeks for new treated pine, or follow the timber maker's advice), then clean with Deck Clean. Previously coated with Aquadeck: clean with Cabot's Deck Clean. Other existing coatings (oiled, stained, varnished or painted): treat with New Timber Prep, then clean with Deck Clean for the best adhesion. Weathered or grey timber: clean with Deck Clean. Stir thoroughly with a broad, flat paddle before and during use. Apply with a brush or a Cabot's decking applicator. Apply two coats and leave about 1 hour between coats. For harsh exposure such as full sun or pool surrounds, apply three coats. Fill any holes or imperfections with a suitable timber putty after the first coat. Clean tools with water.Important notesThe final look depends on the condition and colour of any existing coating. If the old coating is peeling, flaking, uneven or darker than the Merbau shade, strip it or sand back to bare timber, then clean with Deck Clean. Use at temperatures of 10°C or above. Cooler conditions slow drying. Check coated timber about every 12 months, as water repellency and colour will change with weathering. Not for interior use.Specifications Brand Cabot's Product Aquadeck Exterior Decking Oil Size 4L Colour Merbau Base Water-based Finish Matt, semi-transparent Application Brush or Cabot's decking applicator Touch dry 20 minutes Recoat time 1 hour Coverage 12 m² per litre Minimum application temperature 10°C Clean up Water Use Exterior only SafetyWork in a well-ventilated area and avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear gloves and safety glasses when applying. Keep out of reach of children and store the container sealed in a cool, dry place. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
