Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood. Sanding isn’t an effective way to prepare for gluing, as it often leaves an uneven surface and may clog the timber which can stop the glue from penetrating and impact on your result. A straight router can be used to trim the edge, but be sure to only remove as much as required to obtain a suitable edge for gluing. If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION The substrate must be sound, clean, dry and free of all contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, cement laitance, old sealants and poorly bonded paint coatings which could affect adhesion of the adhesive. For optimum adhesion and critical, high performance applications the following priming and/or pre-treatment procedures shall be followed: Non-porous substrates Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel, powder coated metals or glazed tiles, slightly roughen surface with a fine abrasive pad. Clean and pre-treat using Sika® Aktivator-205 applied with a clean cloth. Before bonding / sealing, allow a waiting time of > 15 minutes (< 6 hours). Suitable for interior applications with joints up to 5mm, this product is ideal for both new tile installations and regrouting jobs. Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, old grout, and other contaminants. For new tiling jobs, let tile adhesive set for at least 24 hours. For regrouting, completely remove old grout and thoroughly clean the joints. Application Instructions: Cut the cartridge tip and attach the nozzle. Trim to desired bead width. Using a caulking gun, apply grout into joints, pressing it in to eliminate air gaps. Smooth grout using a rubber float or grout applicator, working diagonally. After 15–20 minutes (depending on temperature), gently wipe tile surfaces with a damp sponge to remove excess grout and haze.
