Loxeal 53-11 Retaining Compound Anaerobic Adhesive 50ml
Loxeal 53-11 is a medium strength anaerobic retaining compound for fixing bearings, liners, bushes, keys and splines into housings and onto shafts. It fills the space between cylindrical parts to give 100% surface contact, boosting load-carrying capacity while still allowing disassembly with standard workshop methods. The cured adhesive is highly resistant to heat, corrosion, vibration, water, gases, oils, hydrocarbons and many chemicals across a service range of -55°C to +150°C.
Why choose Loxeal 53-11?
- General purpose retainer for bearings, bushes, liners, keys and splines
- Medium strength – parts remain serviceable and can be dismantled
- Fills the joint completely, preventing fretting corrosion between mating parts
- Increases load transmission compared with a mechanical fit alone
- Low viscosity wicks into close-fitting cylindrical assemblies
- Resists vibration, oils, fuels and many chemicals from -55°C to +150°C
Typical applications
- Retaining bearings and bushes in housings and on shafts
- Securing cylinder liners, keys, splines and sleeves
- Workshop repairs to restore security in worn cylindrical fits
How to use
- Clean and degrease both parts with Loxeal Cleaner 10 and allow to dry.
- Apply the adhesive so the bond gap is completely filled.
- Assemble the parts, seating them fully, and hold in position for the cure time.
- Allow to cure before loading. On passive surfaces or in cold conditions, pre-treat with Loxeal Activator 11 to accelerate curing.
Cure times at +25°C
- Handling strength: 10–20 minutes
- Functional strength: 1–3 hours
- Full cure: 3–6 hours (maximum properties develop over 24–36 hours)

Chemical resistance
Manufacturer ageing tests show excellent long-term resistance to motor oil and gearbox oil at +125°C, petrol and brake fluid at +25°C (out to 5,000 hours), with good resistance to 50% water/glycol at +87°C.
Important notes
- Formulated for metal substrates only – contact a technical service before use on other materials.
- The liquid adhesive can damage coatings, some plastics and elastomers, and may cause stress cracking in some thermoplastics.
- To disassemble, use normal tools; if needed, heat parts to +150°C/+250°C, remove cured residue mechanically and clean with acetone.
- Store in a cool, dry place at no more than +25°C and do not return used product to the container.
