Loxeal 55-14 Thread Sealant Anaerobic Adhesive 50ml

Loxeal 55-14 is a medium strength anaerobic thread sealant for hydraulic and pneumatic threaded connectors up to 1-1/2″. It replaces PTFE tape and hemp for sealing against gases, water, LPG, hydrocarbons, oils and many other chemicals. A medium thixotropic consistency stops the sealant migrating out of the thread before or during cure, and the cured joint is highly resistant to heat, corrosion, shocks and vibration across a service range of -55°C to +150°C.

How to use

  1. Clean and degrease both threads with Loxeal Cleaner 10 and allow to dry.
  2. Apply a bead of sealant around the male thread so the gap is completely filled.
  3. Assemble and tighten the connection.
  4. Allow to cure before pressurising. On passive surfaces or in cold conditions, pre-treat with Loxeal Activator 11 to speed the cure.

Cure times at +25°C

  • Handling strength: 10–20 minutes
  • Functional strength: 1–3 hours
  • Full cure: 5–10 hours (maximum properties develop over 24–36 hours)

  • Formulated for metal threads only – contact a technical service before use on other materials.
  • The liquid sealant can damage coatings, some plastics and elastomers, and may cause stress cracking in some thermoplastics.
  • To disassemble, use normal tools; if needed, heat parts to +150°C/+250°C, remove cured residue mechanically and clean with acetone.
  • Store in a cool, dry place at no more than +25°C and do not return used product to the container.
