Loxeal 58-14 Gasketing Anaerobic Adhesive 75ml

Description

Loxeal 58-14 Gasketing Anaerobic Adhesive 75ml

Loxeal 58-14 is a medium-strength anaerobic gasketing adhesive that forms a flexible in-place gasket between flange faces, doing away with pre-cut solid gaskets. The highly thixotropic formula stays exactly where it is applied without migrating before or during cure, and the cured film seals dependably against gases, water, LPG, fuels, oils and many other chemicals across a service range of -55°C to +150°C.

Why choose Loxeal 58-14?

  • One liquid gasket replaces an inventory of pre-formed paper, cork and plastic gaskets
  • Flexible cured film shrugs off shocks and vibration
  • Thixotropic — stays put on vertical and horizontal flanges
  • Fills gaps up to 0.50 mm and compensates for minor surface imperfections
  • Assemblies can be dismantled later with standard workshop tools

Typical applications

Gasketing and sealing of flange joints on pumps, gearboxes, differential housings and similar close-fitting metal assemblies in automotive workshops, plant maintenance and general engineering.

How to use

  1. Clean and degrease both flange faces (Loxeal Cleaner 10 recommended).
  2. Apply a continuous bead so the joint gap is completely filled.
  3. Assemble the parts and hold them in position while the adhesive cures.
  4. On passive metals or in cold conditions, accelerate the cure with Loxeal Activator 11.
  5. To dismantle, use normal tools (heating the parts to +150°C/+250°C helps if needed), remove cured residue mechanically and clean up with acetone.

Cure times

At +25°C on steel: handling strength in 15–30 minutes, functional strength in 3–6 hours and full cure in around 24 hours. Cure speed varies with gap size, substrate and temperature.

Specifications

Tensile strength (ISO 6922) 5–8 N/mm²
Impact strength (ASTM D-950) 3–5 kJ/m²
Service temperature -55°C to +150°C
Flash point > +100°C
Shelf life 1 year at +25°C in original unopened packaging

Chemical resistance

Once fully cured, Loxeal 58-14 shows excellent resistance to motor oil and gearbox oil at +125°C out to 1,000 hours, and good long-term resistance to gasoline and to 50% water/glycol mixtures at +87°C.

Important notes

  • Formulated for metal surfaces — contact a technical adviser before use on non-metal parts.
  • The liquid adhesive can attack coatings, some plastics and elastomers, and may induce delayed stress-cracking in certain thermoplastics.
  • Store in a cool, dry place at no more than +25°C and never return used product to the container.

Safety

Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use and follow standard workshop hygiene practices.
