Loxeal 59-10 Gasketing High Temperature Anaerobic Adhesive 75ml

Description

Loxeal 59-10 Gasketing High Temperature Anaerobic Adhesive 75ml

Loxeal 59-10 is a single-component, medium-strength anaerobic flange sealant with outstanding heat resistance up to +200°C. It cures at room temperature when confined without air between close-fitting metal surfaces, forming a durable in-place gasket that replaces pre-formed gaskets, allows wider machining tolerances and still permits dismantling with normal tools. The cured seal is highly resistant to vibration, heat, water, gases, LPG, oils, fuels and many chemicals.

Why choose Loxeal 59-10?

  • Service temperature from -55°C to +200°C — ideal for hot-running assemblies
  • Replaces pre-formed gaskets and assures true metal-to-metal contact
  • Fills gaps up to 0.50 mm, accommodating greater machining tolerances
  • Highly resistant to vibration, oils, hydrocarbons and coolants
  • Parts remain serviceable — dismantle with everyday workshop tools

Typical applications

Sealing flat, rigid flange joints on pumps, gearboxes, camshaft blocks and motor flanges — anywhere a heat-tolerant, vibration-proof formed-in-place gasket is required.

How to use

  1. Clean and degrease the mating surfaces (Loxeal Cleaner 10 recommended).
  2. Apply enough product to fill the joint gap completely.
  3. Bring the parts together and leave undisturbed until cured.
  4. On passivated surfaces or at low temperature, use Loxeal Activator 11 to speed the cure.
  5. For disassembly, use normal tools (heat to +150°C/+250°C if needed), remove cured residue mechanically and clean with acetone.

Cure times

At +25°C on steel: handling strength in 15–30 minutes, functional strength in 3–6 hours and full cure in 6–12 hours. Cure speed depends on substrate, gap and temperature.

Specifications

Chemistry Anaerobic methacrylate
Colour Red
Viscosity (+25°C) 50–300 Pa·s
Specific gravity (+25°C) Approx. 1.05 g/ml
Maximum gap fill 0.50 mm
Shear strength (ISO 4587) 5–10 N/mm²
Tensile strength (ISO 6922) 6–8 N/mm²
Impact strength (ASTM D-950) 3–5 kJ/m²
Service temperature -55°C to +200°C
Flash point > +100°C
Shelf life 1 year at +25°C in original unopened packaging

Chemical resistance

After full cure, Loxeal 59-10 maintains excellent resistance to motor oil and gearbox oil at +125°C and to 50% water/glycol coolant at +87°C through 1,000 hours; resistance to gasoline is excellent initially, reducing with prolonged immersion.

Important notes

  • Recommended for metal surfaces — seek technical advice before use on non-metal parts.
  • Liquid product may damage coated parts and elastomers, and contact with some thermoplastics can induce stress-cracking that is not immediately visible.
  • Store in a cool, dry place at +25°C or below; never return used product to the container.

Safety

Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
