Loxeal 82-21 Retaining Compound Fast Cure Anaerobic Adhesive 50ml

Description

Loxeal 82-21 Retaining Compound Fast Cure Anaerobic Adhesive 50ml

Loxeal 82-21 is a fast curing, high strength anaerobic retaining compound for close-fitting cylindrical parts – shafts, bushes, pulleys and rotors. Its low viscosity flows into precise fits, reaching handling strength in as little as 5–10 minutes, and cures to a tough bond with 17–22 N/mm² shear strength. The cured adhesive is highly resistant to heat, corrosion, vibration, water, gases, oils and hydrocarbons across a service range of -55°C to +150°C.

Why choose Loxeal 82-21?

  • Fast fixture – handling strength in 5–10 minutes keeps jobs moving
  • High strength bond for permanent retention of close-fitted parts
  • Low viscosity penetrates precise cylindrical fits (up to 0.10 mm gap)
  • High impact strength of 11–15 kJ/m² for parts under shock loading
  • Fills the joint completely, preventing fretting corrosion
  • Resists vibration and many chemicals from -55°C to +150°C

Typical applications

  • Bonding pulleys, gears and rotors onto shafts
  • Retaining bushes and bearings in precision housings
  • Production assembly where fast fixture times are needed

How to use

  1. Clean and degrease both parts with Loxeal Cleaner 10 and allow to dry.
  2. Apply the adhesive so the bond gap is completely filled.
  3. Assemble the parts promptly, seating them fully, and hold for the fixture time.
  4. Allow to cure before loading. On passive surfaces or in cold conditions, pre-treat with Loxeal Activator 11 to accelerate curing.

Cure times at +25°C

  • Handling strength: 5–10 minutes
  • Functional strength: 1–3 hours
  • Full cure: 3–6 hours (maximum properties develop over 24–36 hours)

Service temperature -55°C to +150°C
Shelf life 1 year in original unopened packaging at up to +25°C

Chemical resistance

Manufacturer ageing tests show excellent long-term resistance to refrigerants (Freon) at +25°C, excellent resistance to petrol out to 500 hours, and moderate resistance to motor and gearbox oils at +40°C over extended exposure.

Important notes

  • High strength – intended as a permanent retaining bond.
  • Formulated for metal substrates only – contact a technical service before use on other materials.
  • The liquid adhesive can damage coatings, some plastics and elastomers, and may cause stress cracking in some thermoplastics.
  • To disassemble, heat parts to +150°C/+250°C, use normal tools, then remove cured residue mechanically and clean with acetone.
  • Store in a cool, dry place at no more than +25°C and do not return used product to the container.

Safety

Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. For professional and industrial use.

This information is provided as a general guide only, based on the manufacturer's technical data sheet. Always verify suitability for your specific application and consult the current TDS and SDS before use.
