Loxeal 83-54 Threadlocker High Strength Anaerobic Adhesive 50ml
Loxeal 83-54 is a high strength anaerobic threadlocker for permanently locking and sealing studs, nuts, bolts and threaded fasteners that are not intended to be dismantled. It can be used on all metals, in both free and interference fits, and delivers high unscrewing resistance with temperature performance up to +200°C. The cured adhesive stands up to heat, corrosion, vibration, water, gases, oils, hydrocarbons and many chemicals, making it a direct alternative to other high-strength studlocks such as Loctite 263.
Why choose Loxeal 83-54?
- High strength, permanent locking for fasteners that must not come loose
- Strong prevailing torque of 50–65 N·m keeps holding even after the initial break
- Service temperature from -55°C to +200°C
- Suitable for all metals, in free or forced (press-fit) matings
- Green colour, fluorescent under blue light, for easy quality inspection
- Seals the thread, protecting against corrosion and leakage
Typical applications
- Permanent locking of studs into engine blocks, housings and castings
- Heavy machinery, driveline and suspension fasteners exposed to strong vibration
- Fasteners on pumps, compressors and equipment where loosening would be a safety risk
How to use
- Clean and degrease both parts with Loxeal Cleaner 10 and allow to dry.
- Apply enough adhesive to completely fill the engaged threads.
- Assemble and tighten the fastener to the required torque.
- Allow to cure before loading the joint. On passive surfaces or in cold conditions, pre-treat with Loxeal Activator 11 to accelerate curing.
Cure times at +25°C
- Handling strength: 10–20 minutes
- Functional strength: 1–3 hours
- Full cure: 5–10 hours (maximum properties develop over 24–36 hours)

Chemical resistance
Manufacturer ageing tests show excellent long-term resistance to petrol and brake fluid at +25°C, good resistance to 50% water/glycol at +87°C, and good short-term resistance to motor and gearbox oils at +125°C (moderate on extended exposure).
Important notes
- Designed as a permanent locking product – routine disassembly is not intended.
- Formulated for metal substrates only – contact a technical service before use on other materials.
- The liquid adhesive can damage coatings, some plastics and elastomers, and may cause stress cracking in some thermoplastics.
- To disassemble, heat parts to +150°C/+250°C, use normal tools, then remove cured residue mechanically and clean with acetone.
- Store in a cool, dry place at no more than +25°C and do not return used product to the container.
