Selleys Selleys Extreme Strength Liquid Nails Twice as Strong Interior Exterior 350g

In Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Liquid Nails Heavy Duty is a multipurpose construction adhesive that delivers extreme strength in a shorter space of time. The product is specifically designed for those demanding high performance applications, like attaching heavy or bulky materials, panelling, stone tiles, timber and furniture. Best of all it delivers heavy duty adhesion faster so you can get on with the next job. Features 2 X more strength than Liquid Nails Original in less than half the time Speed of cure means mechanical fasteners can be removed after 8 hours compared to 24 hours for Liquid Nails Original No slump or stringing, even when applying a bead to overhead surfaces Excellent resistance to water and weather makes it suitable for interior and exterior applications Easy to extrude from the cartridge at low winter temperatures Where can this product be used? Sheet flooring to joists Metal or aluminium door strips to floors and walls Timber or fibre cement sheeting to cement block or brick walls Masonite / hardboard to timber or floorboards Wallboard or panelling to wood or metal frames Cork tiles to timber, fibre cement or plaster Timber flooring to yellow tongue in conjunction with mechanical fixings to avoid later squeaking What materials is this product suitable for? Timber MDF Plasterboard Plastics (Pre-test to determine suitability) Masonry Concrete Particleboard Metals Rubber Glass Tiles & ceramics How to use this product Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Surfaces to be bonded should be free of oil, grease and dust. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut end to desired opening. (Approx 5 mm diameter). WET BOND METHOD Direct a bead along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40 cm. (‘zig-zag’ beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width; eg shiplap panels.) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Wet bonds are repositionable for up to 15 mins after fitting. Allow adhesives to set (at least 8 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping.(Refer to Bond Strength Time.) CONTACT BOND METHOD – for faster grab Apply a bead to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-4 minutes before firmly joining. Surfaces should not be kept apart for longer than 10 minutes as to do so will impair bond strength Flooring: When fixing sheet flooring (e.g. particleboard), use in conjunction with flooring manufacturer’s installation specifications for minimum nailing requirements. Note: To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, use Liquid Nails Heavy Duty in conjunction with mechanical fixings. Handy tips Time for strong bond depends on nature and condition of application. In most situations^ strong bond can be achieved after 8 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. Full cure can take up to 7 days. ^Curing is achieved by evaporation of solvent. The time required to achieve the bond’s full strength is increased by: constant low temperatures; thick applications (joints) are used; wide areas are bonded; and when bonded surfaces are impervious (e.g. metals and dense timbers).

  • Poly Gap Filler Sealant Multipurpose [White]

Poly Poly Gap Filler Sealant Multipurpose [White]

In Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

A flexible multipurpose gap filler, to fill gaps around cornice, wall joints, skirting board, window and door frames where where movement causes ordinary fillers to crack or fall out. For use on: Wood, brick, aluminium, glass, plasterboard, ceramic tiles and painted surfaces (INTERIOR & EXTERIOR) Coverage: 30m/3mm bead. Dry time: Skins in 30 minutes at 25°C. Full cure in 7days. Ready to use: YES Available in: 475g Colour: White NOTE: Not for fine joints between tongue and groove boards or weatherboard overlaps. • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from oil, dust, grease, flaking paint and old sealant. • Using caulking gun, push sealant ahead of nozzle forcing it onto the surface and into the joint. Ensure the sealant is touching both sides of the gap. • Smooth with wet finger or knife and remove excess sealant immediately with a damp cloth. • Allow sealant to skin approx 30 min before painting with water-based paints. • Allow to set for 48 hours if using oil based paint or if joint is large. • Some water-based undercoats and flat paints may crack on drying. Test a small section of sealant. Paint cracking may be reduced by using a vinyl/ acrylic semi glossed paint or oil based undercoats first, or by allowing the sealant to cure thoroughly before painting. • Do not use outside if rain is imminent, not for contantly damp areas. • Painting improves exterior durability. • Use Poly silicone sealants for a watertight seal or where movement is excessive. • Water clean up Q. How do I fill gaps between my wooden window frames and inside wall? A. You're dealing with two different materials here, plaster and wood. To allow for differential movement between them, use Polyfilla Gap Filler, wiping off any excess with a damp cloth. Q. I painted over the areas where I used Polyfilla Gap Filler and now cracks have appeared. Why has this happened? A. If the gap filler was not cured sufficiently before it was painted over, cracks can occur as the gap filler shrinks. To prevent this, allow 48 hours drying time when you are filling large gaps or painting with oil-based paints. Also, some water based undercoats and paints shrink during drying and as Polyfilla Gap Filler is flexible, it won't stop cracks appearing in the shrinking paint on its surface. Test the paint on a small section of gap filler and if this is a problem you can reduce cracking by allowing the filler to cure thoroughly or by first coating it with a vinyl/acrylic semi-gloss or oil-based undercoat. Q. Why does my gap filler keeps cracking? A. It is important to remember that the width of a gap affects how much the product can move. Fine cracks less than 2mm allow the gap filler to move only very tiny amounts before it may crack again. It is best to ensure that you have at least 3mm worth of product so you can maximise the movement capability of your joint.

Temperature resistance: approximately -60°C to +150°C. 25-year guarantee – when used as directed, i.e., for private use and within 12 months of purchase, the product is guaranteed against crumbling, cracking, or drying. Where can this product be used? Showers and sinks Metal, copper, and brass fittings Perfect for use on or around: Showers Baths Spas Sinks Plumbing Fixtures Can not be painted over. Not suitable for building materials that bleed oils or solvents, such as impregnated wood. Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene, or Teflon. Pre-test plastics before use. What materials is this product suitable for? Ceramic, glazed & porcelain fixtures Metal, copper, and brass fittings Plastic laminates Rubber Glass Stainless steel Concrete and grouts Many plastics including polystyrene How to use this product Thoroughly clean and dry the surface from oil, dirt, and grease with Mineral Turpentine first and then Methylated Spirits. Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there is old silicone that needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER. This ingenious product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course Grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched-up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as the SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun. We recommend this caulking gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess from run-on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun, and extrude the silicone sealant. Move in a pushing motion along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpentine or, for a professional finish, use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpentine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before it skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpentine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipe. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately with mineral turpentine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. At this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy Tips Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product for a neat finish and easy cleanup. When first applying, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish, complete painting prior to using the sealant as it cannot be painted over. Use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant for a better finish. Work in sections that can be completed before the sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up spills and clean any material off the skin before it cures. Safety Tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin. If contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as the product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing. For advice, contact a Poisons Information Centre (AUS 131 126; NZ 0800 764 766) or a doctor. For further detail on the safe use of this product, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet, which can be downloaded from this site. Keep away from children. Storage and Re-Use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C. The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use, keep the nozzle on the cartridge. Silicone is a reactive product and cures once exposed to humidity. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When re-using, simply remove the foil and plug from the old nozzle, pull out the excess silicone, and re-pierce the tip of the cartridge. If cure has occurred inside the cartridge, the product is no longer usable and should be discarded.

Press the materials together, ensuring full contact. For sheet goods, roll firmly to promote transfer and wetting. Support, clamp, or brace as needed until the adhesive develops sufficient handling strength. Cure and working time Cure time depends on substrate temperature. At 20°C typical cure is within a few hours. Do not load anchors until fully cured. Cooler temperatures and high humidity will slow curing, while warmer, drier conditions accelerate it. Do not load or finish until the bond has developed adequate strength. Always follow best practice for ventilation and safe handling during cure. Coverage Coverage varies based on substrate profile, bead size, and installation method. As a guide, a 300 ml cartridge with a 6 mm round bead can lay several linear meters. For trowel applied adhesives, a notched trowel pattern will influence yield. Plan to have extra on hand for porous or uneven surfaces. Limitations Do not apply to surfaces that are visibly wet unless the product specifically allows damp application. Avoid continuous water immersion unless the product is rated for that exposure. Not all plastics are compatible; test on polypropylene, polyethylene, and PTFE if required. Observe maximum service temperature and any movement or vibration limits appropriate to the application. Clean up Wipe uncured resin with appropriate solvent. Once cured, it is chemically resistant and must be removed mechanically. Always read the product label and follow local regulations for disposal of leftover material and containers. Safety Read the label before use and keep out of reach of children. Use in a well ventilated area. Wear protective gloves and eye protection. If on skin, wash with soap and water. If in eyes, rinse cautiously and seek medical advice if irritation persists. Do not ingest. Refer to the product Safety Data Sheet for detailed information. Storage Store upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the cap or nozzle tightly closed when not in use. Do not allow to freeze unless the product literature states it is freeze-thaw stable. Rotate stock to use older product first. Troubleshooting Poor adhesion: Check surface prep, remove contaminants, and reapply with firm pressure. Slow cure: Verify temperature and humidity. Increase airflow or allow more time. Excess squeeze-out: Reduce bead size or spread more evenly. Clean residue before it skins. Frequently asked questions Can I paint over it? Many adhesives can be overcoated once cured. Sika Sikaflex 258 Primerless Glass Adhesive 310 mL

In Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Sikaflex 258 Primerless Glass Adhesive 310 mL is a reliable polyurethane glass adhesive designed for primerless bonding to suitable automotive glass chosen for home repairs, trade work, and craft builds when you want a bond you can trust. Designed for Australian conditions, it balances strength, ease of use, and clean application so you can get professional results without special tools. The 310 mL pack is ideal for general work and keeps neatly in a toolbox or caddy. Why choose Sikaflex 258 for your next project Everyday jobs often involve mixed materials and imperfect surfaces. Sikaflex 258 Primerless Glass Adhesive 310 mL has been formulated to wet out well, grab quickly, and cure to a tough finish that resists movement and contact stress. It maintains bond integrity across common temperature swings and has dependable resistance to moisture and most household chemicals. Whether you are fixing, building, sealing, or assembling, this product gives you confidence from first squeeze through final set. Best for Bonding glass where a primerless system is specified Automotive and transport glazing carried out by trained users Suitable surfaces The adhesive works well on the following surface types when properly prepared: Compatible glass substrates Painted frames and prepared bodywork per Sika guidance Surface preparation Good preparation is the key to a long lasting repair. Remove loose material, dust, and grease. Wipe glossy areas with methylated spirits or an approved cleaner and allow to dry. On very smooth plastics and metals, lightly roughen with fine abrasive paper to give the adhesive a mechanical key. Dry fit parts first and mark alignment points so you can assemble accurately within the open time. If bonding porous materials, ensure both faces are dry and free of surface chalking. How to use Check fit and plan clamping. Do a trial run without adhesive so you know the order of steps. Apply a thin, continuous bead to one surface. For wide pieces, use a zig zag pattern to maximise wetting. Bring surfaces together within the stated open time of observe skin time and install components within this window. Reseat once if needed, then hold steady. Apply even pressure using clamps, tape, weights, or temporary fasteners. Avoid squeezing all adhesive out of the joint. Allow to cure undisturbed. Initial handling strength will develop as the adhesive sets, with a full cure reached based on the chemistry described below. Cure profile Moisture cure technology forms a strong, elastic bond. Skin forms first, followed by through cure depending on joint depth and humidity. Temperature and environmental performance Do not apply below the minimum stated on pack. Maintain adequate humidity for moisture cure. Avoid application to very cold, sweating, or waterlogged surfaces. For outdoor use protect fresh bonds from rain until the skin has formed and the core has progressed in cure. Once fully cured, the bond resists normal weathering, splash water, and intermittent UV exposure based on the substrate and paint systems used. Clean up and finishing Remove fresh adhesive with suitable cleaner. Once cured, trim with a sharp blade using care. When cured, excess can be carefully trimmed or sanded. For painted finishes, allow the adhesive to fully cure before priming. Test paint on a small area to confirm compatibility and drying behaviour. Coverage guide Coverage varies with bead size, surface porosity, and technique. As a general guide, a 3 mm bead yields approximately 10 to 12 linear meters per 310 mL cartridge. Smaller packs scale proportionally. Gaps, rough edges, and highly absorbent materials will reduce coverage. Plan an extra margin for offcuts and practice passes. Tips for best results Work within the recommended open time so the adhesive can properly wet the surfaces. Use light clamping pressure to keep parts aligned while maintaining a film thickness for strength. For very porous substrates, apply a thin precoat as a primer layer and allow it to tack before final assembly. Keep joint lines clean by masking edges with painter tape and removing it before the adhesive skins. Where movement or vibration is expected, design the joint to share load across a large area. Troubleshooting Poor adhesion: Check for oil, release agents, or surface dust. Reclean and lightly abrade if necessary. Slow cure: Low temperature and low humidity extend cure time. Maintain moderate conditions for best results. Visible squeeze out: Wipe fresh material with a suitable solvent and a soft cloth. Once cured, trim carefully. Bond line prints through paint: Allow a full cure, then prime and apply thin coats of paint, allowing proper drying between coats. Storage and shelf life Store cartridges cool and dry. Check use by dates before installation in critical work. Always check the pack for a lot code and use by guidance. Reseal immediately after use and store upright. Dispose of empty containers responsibly. Safety Read the label before use. Wear gloves when handling uncured material. Provide ventilation in enclosed areas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep out of reach of children and pets. If sensitivity occurs, stop use and seek advice. Do not ingest. First aid directions and detailed handling information are available on the package and the safety data sheet. Frequently asked questions Can I bond dissimilar materials? Yes, provided each surface is clean and sound. Differences in expansion are managed by the adhesive film thickness and the inherent flexibility after cure. Is clamping required? Light clamping improves alignment and final strength. Excessive pressure can starve the joint of adhesive which reduces performance. Is the bond water resistant? Once cured the bond resists splash water and routine humidity. For permanent immersion choose an adhesive designed for underwater service and follow the manufacturer guidance. Planning your job Measure twice and cut once. Dry assemble parts so you can confirm squareness and alignment before adhesive is involved. Keep rags, clamps, and spacers ready. If you are new to the product, test on offcuts to get a feel for bead size and squeeze out. A consistent 1 to 2 mm bond line is a good starting point for most rigid materials. Thicker lines help when surfaces are uneven. Avoid starving the joint by pressing too hard without giving the adhesive a place to reside. Responsible use Choose an adhesive that suits the materials and the environment the finished piece will face. If a joint will be submerged, carry structural loads, or be exposed to strong chemicals, check the technical data sheet for specific guidance. Many general purpose products are perfect for day to day work, while specialised tasks call for a system designed and tested for that environment. Using the right product first saves time, money, and rework. Aftercare and maintenance Adhesive joints are remarkably strong when used correctly. Design repairs so that routine loads are shared across a generous area. Where heavy vibration is present, pair the adhesive bond with appropriate mechanical fasteners. Keep cleaning chemicals mild, and avoid abrasive pads on visible joints. If a bond will be repainted, choose flexible paint where movement is expected, and keep edges sealed to prevent dirt tracking along the bond line. Recycling and disposal Allow empty containers to cure before disposal. Check local council guidance for recycling of plastics and metal cartridges. Never pour uncured product into drains or soil. Wipe tools on scrap material and let residue harden before placing in general waste. Smart handling keeps the workspace clean and reduces environmental impact.

Apply with hand, pneumatic, or electric piston guns, or suitable pump equipment. Tooling & Finishing Tool within the skin time. Recommended finishing agent: Sika® Tooling Agent N (test any alternative agent for suitability). Cleaning & Removal Uncured material: remove from tools/equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or a suitable solvent. Cured material: remove mechanically (e.g. knife, wire, abrasion). Skin/hands: clean immediately with Sika® Cleaner-350H towels or an appropriate industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents on skin. Overpainting Best painted after skin formation; performance can be improved by treating the joint surface with Sika® Aktivator-100 or Sika® Aktivator-205 before painting. If the paint requires baking > 80 °C, allow the sealant to fully cure first. Always conduct preliminary trials under manufacturing conditions. Avoid using enamel, alkyd, and chlorinated rubber paints on the joint area. Compliance & Approvals Meets requirements set out by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Associated with the marine “Wheelmark” conformity mark under the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) where applicable. FAQs Can Sikaflex®-291 be overpainted? Yes, once cured and after preliminary testing for compatibility. Note that paint elasticity is usually lower than the sealant’s and may crack over the joint. Enamel, alkyd, and chlorinated rubber paints should not be used on the joint area. What is a “marine grade” sealant/adhesive? Sika’s marine range is designed for flexible, waterproof, and durable assemblies across vessels from small yachts to large ships, for maintenance and construction tasks above and below the waterline. When and why should a primer be used? Primers promote adhesion on certain substrates. Sika® Primer-210 is commonly used prior to applying 1-component polyurethanes like Sikaflex®-291. Always confirm with testing. What does the Wheelmark indicate? The Wheelmark symbolizes conformity with marine equipment standards under the EU Marine Equipment Directive (MED). Which substrates does Sikaflex®-291 bond to? Wood; metals, metal primers and 2-C paint systems; ceramics; and plastics such as GRP. Avoid plastics prone to stress cracking (e.g. acrylic/Plexiglas®, polycarbonate). How do I remove Sikaflex®-291? Uncured: Sika® Hand Wipes or Sika® Remover-208 for tools/surfaces. Cured: mechanical methods (knife, wire, abrasion). Remover-208 will not remove cured material. Important: Information above is based on typical data. Performance depends on substrate, preparation, joint design, and application conditions. Conduct on-site tests to verify suitability. Always consult the latest Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

Overview: Selleys White For Life Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant is a premium, 100% silicone sealant designed to provide a long-lasting, waterproof, and mould-resistant seal in high-moisture areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and laundries. Its advanced formulation ensures the sealant remains brilliant white over time, resisting yellowing, staining, and blackening. Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, oil, and loose materials. Clean the area with mineral turpentine and wipe dry with a clean cloth before application. Application Instructions: Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle to the desired bead size. Cut the cartridge tip and fit the nozzle. Place the cartridge into a caulking gun and apply steady pressure to ensure the sealant is pushed into the joint. Tool the sealant with a spatula dipped in detergent water within 5-10 minutes of application for a smooth finish. Clean up any excess sealant with mineral turpentine before it skins. Allow the sealant to cure fully, which typically takes 72 hours. Coverage: The coverage depends on the joint size; for example, a 5mm x 5mm joint will yield approximately 12 linear meters per 300g cartridge. Drying Time: The sealant skins in about 10 minutes and cures fully in 72 hours. Clean-Up: Uncured sealant can be removed with mineral turpentine. Once cured, the sealant is extremely difficult to remove and must be abraded or trimmed with a knife.
