Bostik Soft Plastics Adhesive is a strong water-resistant polyurethane-based adhesive, designed for long-lasting repairs of objects made from common soft and flexible plastics. It is quick-drying leaving a clear and almost invisible glue line. Ideal for repair of inflatable swimming pool toys. APPLICATIONS Repair of inflatable toys, plastic raincoats, lilos and vinyl swimming pools. Also suitable as a general-purpose glue for DIY repairs around the house and for arts and craft. ADHESION Adheres to rigid and soft (plasticized) PVC, ABS, Perspex, Polystyrene (solid), Formica polyurethane, and fibreglass. Also bonds a variety of other materials such as metal, glass, porcelain, ceramic, leather, most rubbers, felt, cork, fabric, cardboard, paper, coated and uncoated wood. LIMITATIONS - Not suitable on plastics such as polypropylene, polyethylene. - Not suitable on expanded polystyrene, rayon and acetate fabrics, EPDM and silicone rubber. SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all loose materials, dust, dirt, oil, rust and any other contaminants. For improved adhesion, surfaces should be lightly abraded and then wiped with a solvent such as acetone. Poor surface preparation may result in a weak bond and delamination of the substrates along the glue line. HOW TO USE 1. Ensure that surfaces are prepared as above. Wet stick method: 2. Spread an even film of adhesive onto both surfaces. If required, use the PVC patch provided. 3. Leave the surfaces open for approximately 5 minutes, until almost dry. 4. Bring surfaces together firmly until bonded. If necessary, hold together with a clamp or tape. 5. Full strength develops after 24 hours. Dry stick method: 6. This application method achieves the strongest and fastest bond. It is ideal for heavy-duty repairs or when initial high bond strength is required. 7. Spread an even film of adhesive onto both surfaces. Allow drying completely. 8. Re-activate the glue by applying a suitable heat source over the surfaces, e.g. a hairdryer. 9. Once the surfaces are very hot, bring together and press firmly to ensure good contact for about 2 minutes. 10. Depending on the application, the object may be handled immediately. 11. Full strength develops after 24 hours. CLEANING - Wet adhesive can be cleaned with acetone. - Dried adhesive can be removed mechanically or with acetone. If using acetone, check for substrate compatibility prior to use. This is an excellent product where quick bonding and a clear bond line is required especially in the DIY market. Instructions Surface Preparation Surfaces to be bonded must be dry, clean and free of grease. If surfaces are non-porous, smooth and glossy, roughen with glass paper (preferably) or apply solvent suck as Acetone As a two way dry stick: Apply an even film onto both substrates, leave 5-10 minutes then join together with as much as possible taking care not to trap any air. As a one way wet stick: Usually, this technique is employed when either one or both of substrates to be bonded are porous (e.g. fabrics, cardboard). Clean Up Any wet or partially wet adhesive can be removed with scraping and Bostik Solvent 9901. The dried adhesive is best removed with a scraper or by sanding. STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE A minimum of 12 months in original sealed packaging if stored under cover away from heat.

Leave the coated surfaces until the adhesive is just tacky, approximately 4 minutes at normal room temperature. 4. Ensure the surfaces are accurately aligned and then press firmly together. They will stick immediately. CLEANING 5. After use, wipe the nozzle with a clean dry cloth (avoiding skin contact). 7. Bostik Hard Plastics adhesive can be removed using acetone before set. Solvents can damage some surfaces, therefore carry out a test on a small area first. PRECAUTIONS IN USE Bostik Hard Plastics adhesive is not suitable for polyolefins e.g. polythene, polypropylene or PTFE. It should not be used for repairing items that hold hot liquids.

Leave until touch dry (approximately 5 to 15 minutes), then bring both surfaces together accurately 4. Take care to avoid the formation of air bubbles between surfaces 5. To ensure maximum adhesion, clamp or weigh down the entire surface or apply firm hand pressure evenly 6. Replace screw cap to keep the contents of tube airtight CLEANING To clean up tools, equipment and adhesive spills use Mineral Turpentine.
