  • Selleys N Mastic – Premium Non-Hardening Waterproof Sealing Putty for Long-Lasting, Flexible Sealing of Joints, Windows, and Roofing

Selleys Selleys N Mastic – Premium Non-Hardening Waterproof Sealing Putty for Long-Lasting, Flexible Sealing of Joints, Windows, and Roofing

In Stock - Ready to ship  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Selleys N Mastic is a non-hardening, waterproof sealing putty designed for a wide range of applications where long-lasting flexibility is crucial. Ideal for sealing joints, gaps around windows, and roofing, it ensures that structures remain protected from water ingress. The unique formula remains pliable, making it perfect for environments where movement and expansion are expected. Whether you're sealing an outdoor roof gutter, securing window frames, or filling gaps in an air conditioning system, Selleys N Mastic provides a professional-grade finish with no cracking or crumbling. The product is also suitable for metal, glass, concrete, and brick, making it a versatile solution for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. N-Mastic is a non-skinning polybutene-based compound. It will remain permanently soft and paste-like. Uses N-Mastic is suitable for sealing concealed lap joints between plastics, metals, timber, glass, masonry, and expanded foam panels. It may be used in the installation of cool rooms, prefabricated construction and gasket sealed windscreens to exclude draughts and water penetration through joints in materials. Technical Features Non-hardening – remains permanently flexible to provide a lasting seal Good adhesion – adheres well to most substrates Moisture resistance – provides an excellent barrier to moisture vapour Microbe resistance – resists microbial attack Low shrinkage – avoids the risk of sealant pulling away from joint surfaces Wide service temperatures – withstands –40oC to +80oC service conditions Application Tips Due to the non-skinning, non-hardening nature of the sealant, N-Mastic should not be used in exposed joints where dirt pick-up or hand contact can be a problem. As N-Mastic is not elastomeric, it should not be used in areas subject to considerable dynamic stress. Although N-Mastic is resistant to static pressures, a curing sealant is recommended where this is a critical factor. N-Mastic is not recommended for sealing lap joints in mobile homes, truck bodies, etc., as significant vibration and flexing occur during travel. Selleys Liquid Nails Rapid Cure is an advanced, high-performance polyurethane construction adhesive that cures in just 10 minutes*. It provides a durable, waterproof bond even when bonding two non-porous surfaces. Features Fast cure in 10 minutes*. More than twice the strength of conventional solvent-based construction adhesives. Waterproof – Uncompromising durability, with excellent water, weather and heat resistance. Can be used to bond most materials, and for most interior & exterior applications. Its advanced formulation exceeds the requirements of BS-EN204 D4 for durability. Resistant (after full cure) to heat to 100 degrees C and cold to -30 degrees C. See “Limitations” below. Does not drip, sag or string between panels. Bridges gap up to 5mm hence can be used on rough and ill-fitting construction materials. Product expands slightly as it cures. The dried adhesive is paintable. *Expect longer times for very dry timber, heavier objects and less porous surfaces or in colder weather.  *Limitations – Not suitable for sole fixing or structural bonding. Where can this product be used? Liquid Nails Rapid Cure can be used for applications where higher performance characteristics are necessary. These include applications where: Extra water resistance is essential. eg. Exterior applications such as decking. Extra strength is required. Extra temperature resistance is required. eg. Applications where metal substrates are exposed to direct sunlight. Plastic substrates which are sensitive to solvent-based adhesives are used. Metal installations in which solvent-based adhesives will be slow to cure. Liquid Nails Waterproof is also suitable for typical construction applications such as: Sheet flooring to joists Metal or aluminium door strips to floors or walls Timber or fibre cement sheeting to cement block or brick walls Masonite What materials is this product suitable for? Timber MDF Plasterboard Plastics (Pre-test to determine suitability) Masonry Concrete Particleboard Metals Rubber Tiles LOSP treated pine How to use this product General Avoid contact with skin. Wear safety glasses, impervious gloves and clothing. Surfaces to be bonded should be free of oil, grease and dust. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. 1. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut end to desired width (approx 5mm diameter). 2. Apply bead along the length of one bonding surface. On broad surfaces apply beads every 40cm. (‘zig-zag’ beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width; eg shiplap panels.) 3. Position pieces and press firmly together. Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold the load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Repositionable for up to 5 mins after fitting. 4. Allow to set for 15-20 mins for porous surfaces before removing temporary fasteners or clamps.* Liquid Nails Rapid Cure will achieve a full cure in 24 hours.  *Expect longer times for very “dry” timber, heavier objects and less porous surfaces, or in colder weather. Spraying surfaces with a very light mist of water may help speed up the cure. Handy tips Gloves should be worn when applying Liquid Nails Rapid Cure. Avoid contact with skin. Adhesive requires moisture to cure, therefore drying times will vary depending on temperature, humidity and the porosity of materials bonded. Spraying surfaces with a very light mist of water may help speed up the cure. The product should not be applied below 5°C. LIQUID NAILS Rapid Cure expands slightly as it cures. Not suitable for sole fixing for structural bonding. LIQUID NAILS Rapid Cure should always be used in conjunction with mechanical fasteners in structural, critical or high-stress applications. Wet LIQUID NAILS Rapid Cure residues can be removed with acetone or mineral turpentine. Cured or dry LIQUID NAILS Rapid Cure residues can be removed by chiselling, scraping or sanding. Safety tips If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Avoid skin contact. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area The product is an eye, skin and respiratory irritant and can potentially cause irritation. Avoid contamination of waterways. Allow waste or leftover product to completely dry out before disposing of it. For further detail on the safe use of this product, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet, which can be downloaded from this site. Keep away from children. Not suitable for bonding materials in areas which will be constantly damp or wet. Not suitable for use in tightly clamped joints eg cabinet making or joinery use Selleys Aquadhere What materials is this product suitable for? Brick & Concrete Plasterboard, particleboard & fibre cement sheeting Ceramic tiles Aluminium Painted surfaces Timber Hardboards Render Many other building surfaces   How to use this product Ensure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and loose powdery materials. If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. If there is old difficult to remove residue such as old flaky paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS KWIK STRIP SMART, and allow to dry. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Highly oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/ Course grain, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge. Cut the nozzle end to desired opening (approx. 5mm diameter). Fit to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of work which requires a caulking gun. Apply a bead of product along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. Fix the surfaces with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. The product is repositionable for up to 20 minutes after fitting. Allow the adhesive to set (at least 24 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. For faster grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-5 minutes before firmly joining. The time it takes to form a strong bond depends on the nature and conditions of the application. In most situations strong bonds can be achieved after 24 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. The product will fully cure up to 7 days. When the product is still wet it can be removed with mineral turpetine, otherwise if the product is dry it can be removed by sanding or scraping, we recommend using a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper. Clean any excess from your hands with SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, apply a bead of Liquid nails into the groove or each board when installing. Handy tips When applying to one surface, ensure sufficient LIQUID NAILS Original is used so that some adhesive extrudes out when surfaces are brought together then wipe off excess if necessary. If glue is not visible, then insufficient contact may not have been made between the surfaces and a weak joint may result. LIQUID NAILS Original should always be used in conjunction with mechanical fasteners in structural, critical or high stress applications. LIQUID NAILS Original is sometimes called LIQUID NAILS (SOLVENT) to differentiate it from the other Liquid Nails products. LIQUID NAILS Original shrinks slightly on curing. Cured LIQUID NAILS Original residues can be removed by holding a rag soaked in Mineral Turps against the residue, then rubbing the residue once softened. Mineral Turps penetrates in this way at approximately 1 mm per hour. When Liquid Nails Original joints are directly exposed to the weather, it is recommended to seal around the edges with a silicone sealant to prevent water ponding inside the joint and thus weaken the joint. LIQUID NAILS Original is NOT recommended for use on mirrors or polystyrene. Use LIQUID NAILS MIRROR METAL GLASS for mirrors and LIQUID NAILS FAST for polystyrene. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job.

If necessary, use mineral turpentine to clean surface and allow to dry. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut nozzle tip to a suitable size opening (approximately 5mm). Place cartridge into caulking gun. Apply ‘dobs’ or ‘beads’ of adhesive of appropriate thickness to ensure sufficient contact and spread between both surfaces. (To minimise ‘squeezed out’ apply at least 12mm in from edges) Immediately bring surfaces together before product skins (within 5 minutes) and apply sufficient pressure to spread between both surfaces Do not wipe ‘squeeze out’. Wait until product cures and remove by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid cutting into the bond. Leave bond undisturbed until adhesive cures sufficiently. Do not allow traffic on stairs or use of walls for at least 24 hours after adhesive application. Do not apply to wet/damp surfaces Technical Details and Performance Liquid Nails Landscape will skin and begin curing within 5 minutes. Full cure will normally be achieved in 72 hours. Indicative information only, not to be used for setting specifications. Consistency (As applied) Non-slump, solvent free paste Curing Mechanism Very rapidly develops rubber consistency by reaction with moisture from the air Curing Rate 2mm depth per day Skin Forming Time 10-15 minutes (depending on weather conditions) Service Temperature –60°C to +150°C Lap Shear Bond Strength (Hoop Pine to Hoop Pine at 1.6mm thick adhesive, 500sq mm bond area) After 7 days: 570KPa Coverage 15 metres of a 5mm diameter bead Cleaning Clean all excess adhesive from equipment before it cures with a cloth dampened with mineral turpentine or acetone. Once cured adhesive is extremely difficult to remove and must be abraded or trimmed with a knife. Spilt of smeared adhesive is best left to cure and then removed by abrasion.

Liquid Nails Clear eliminates unsightly mess caused by conventional brown construction adhesives because it dries clear and blends with the surrounding surface. It is ideal where a fine finish is important. Uses Selleys Liquid Nails Clear is suitable for bonding to glass, fibreglass, metals, most plastics*, timber, particleboard, MDF, tiles & ceramics, concrete, painted and masonry substrates. Suitable for bonding mouldings & trims, skirting boards & architraves, general fabrication and creating mosaics. Pre-test plastics to determine compatibility. Technical Features High performance solvent based adhesive. Note: When use on glass to glass, thin film application is recommended for better clarity. Good paintability – Paintable with water based paints. Oil based paints require undercoating with water based paints first. Excellent resistance to water and weather makes it suitable for interior and exterior applications. Application Tips Due to solvent content Liquid Nails Clear should not be used in enclosed space or without ventilation Solvents may affect some plastics Will not bond polyolefin plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene May damage some polycarbonate, avoid smears and spills Cannot be used on polystyrene foam May not adhere to wet absorbent surfaces or to some old wet metals In very cold weather cartridge must be conditioned to room temperature before use Not recommended for permanent water immersion or water containment structures Must be first painted with water based paint prior to painting with oil based paints Will not accept common wood stains. (If staining is required, it is recommended to stain timber before bonding). Full cure in 2 weeks Not recommended for mirrors Bonds weaken at high temperatures. Avoid bonding metals or heavy materials which will be heated by direct sun. (Consult Selleys about particular applications subject to heating). Ensure that surfaces are free from dust, loose particles and dry. Cut cartridge tip, pierce membrane inside base of nub, fit nozzle and cut end to desired opening and fit cartridge into cartridge gun. In very cold weather, cartridge may need to be conditioned to room temperature for easier gunning. Direct a bead along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. (“zig-zag” beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Wet bonds are re-positionable for up to 20 mins after fitting Allow adhesives to set (at least 24 – 48 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. (refer to Bond strength Time) For faster grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-3 minutes before firmly Technical Details and Performance Time for strong bond depends on nature and condition of application. A minimum of 24 to 48 hours is needed for sufficient strength to develop. The bond will continue to strengthen over time. Full cure up to 14 days. Curing is achieved by evaporation of solvent. Time to achieve full strength is increased: at constant low temperatures; when thick applications (joints) are used; wide areas are bonded; when bonded surfaces are impervious (e.g. metals and glass). Indicative information only, not to be used for setting specifications. Contact with skin may result in irritation. Epoxy resin is a known skin sensitiser. Repeated or prolonged skin contact may lead to allergic contact dermatitis. If redness or swelling of skin occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Seek medical attention if in any doubt. Mixed and cured material is not hazardous. Cured material can only be removed by cutting and abrasion. If cured on skin, it will peel off in a few days without assistance. Soaking in warm water will assist removal. Storage and re-use Replace siliver disc to seal ends and keep in a cool dry place.

A solvent-based, heat resistant, flexible contact adhesive suitable for bonding both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces. It forms an instant bond on contact of two surfaces. The gel form allows application without dripping or ‘stringing’. Great for vertical surfaces. Features Heat resistance up to 130C No clamping required Suitable for interior and exterior jobs Cured adhesive is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis Immediate set on contact. Maximum strength after 24 hours Gel Grip has a thicker consistency than Kwik Grip and so is ideal for vertical applications as it won’t run Gel form prevents running or stringing Easy to spread by brush and ideal for use on vertical surfaces Where can this product be used? Vertical surfaces where dripping and running is a concern Bonding veneers of timber and laminated plastics, eg. Laminex and Formica to bench or table tops Areas where clamping or pressing facilities are either not available or difficult to use Patching vinyl Flooring Replacing a vinyl tile Cork tiling Laying a vinyl floor Fixing laminate to tables, benchtops etc Repairing canvas tents and outdoor equipment Bonding metal or laminate sheeting Replacing trim, rubbers and weather seals in cars Adhering flexible or other material to Aluminium Joining, repairing holes in tents, car covers etc Some plastics such as vinyl sheeting and polystyrene are attacked by Gel Grip. Test in an inconspicuous area prior to application. Can cause discolouration and bubbling when used for vinyl flooring materials, seek the advice of flooring material manufacturer before using Gel Grip. We recommend Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications Contains highly flammable solvent and care should be taken to ensure all fire precautions are observed. Cannot be used for application in temperatures below 10oC. Suitable for porous materials but not for rough, ill-fitting surfaces. (Consider the suitability of alternative products such as Liquid Nails for rough ill-fitting surfaces). What materials is this product suitable for? Cork Rubber Felt Canvas Leather Metals Timber Laminated plastics (laminex, formica) Hardboard Compressed board How to use this product Ensure that surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from grease or paint. Cut laminated plastic sheet slightly oversize all round. Completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep apart until touch dry – no more than 40 minutes. Position the items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels or heavy craft paper and working from one edge press surfaces firmly together. Secure bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or else by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block. For bonding other materials, apply as for laminated plastics above. When small surface areas are to be joined a wet bond may be used. Simply apply Gel Grip to one surface then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy tips Care should be taken to test plastics prior to use as solvents present will attack some grades such as polystyrene and sheet vinyl. Use Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications. Keep container sealed when not in use. Coverage – up to 5 square metres/litre (bonded area 2.5 square metres/litre) depending on porosity of surfaces and thickness of applications For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Cured adhesive is very difficult to remove. Tools and other equipment on which Gel Grip has dried may be cleaned by soaking in Toluol or lacquer thinner. Excess adhesive on the face of the jointed materials may also be removed with solvent, but care should be taken that the materials themselves are not damaged by the solvent. Safety tips Ensure thorough ventilation when using. Avoid using in a confined space for prolonged periods. Use Kwik Grip Advanced as a low fume alternative. Avoid skin contact as solvents in Gel Grip have a degreasing effect and may result in irritation. If in eyes flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Seek medical advice. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126 or New Zealand 0800 764 766. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give a glass of water. Highly flammable. Do not use in the same area as flame, fire or spark producing apparatus or machinery. This product should NOT be accessible to juveniles, because of its solvent content. For further information refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which can be found at this site. Storage and re-use Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Selleys Fibreglass Fix Repair Kit is a complete kit containing polyester resin, a hardener and fibreglass mat, for repairs to fibreglass and a variety of other surfaces. Where can this product be used? Boat repairs including hull repairs Surfboard / Surfski repairs Automotive repairs Repairing a leaky gutter Patching downpipes Patching metal roofs or grass catchers Not approved for contact with drinking water What materials is this product suitable for? Fibreglass Plywood Metal Fibro Sheeting Most Plastics How to use this product Wear rubber or plastic gloves when handling fibreglass Surface Preparation Surfaces should be clean and dry and free from paint, grease and rust. Cut the fibreglass mat to shape, allowing approximately 3cm overlap all round. Tease out the fibres along the edge of the mat to give a feathered edge. For wide holes, glue a piece of cardboard to the back of the hole to form a base. Mixing: For each tablespoon of resin, squeeze 5 drops of hardener from the small tube and mix together thoroughly. Do not prepare the mixture until required as only a limited time (20 minutes at 20°C) is available before the product gels. Application Position the mat and apply resin/hardener mixture with a clean, dry brush. Be sure to impregnate the mat completely, working out all air bubbles. Add more mat and resin/hardener mixture to build up or contour the patch as required. Finishing When the patch has completely hardened, (approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the temperature), it can be sanded to a smooth finish. Fill imperfections with more resin. Paint if required. Clean up product with Solvent Acetone before it cures Handy tips At higher temperatures, the working time decreases. Can only be tinted with iron oxide or other dry pigments .which must be mixed in very thoroughly. Surfaces to be joined should be clean and dry. If recommended amounts of hardener are not used, cure time will vary or an incomplete cure may result. A useful solvent to clean up epoxy and polyester resins BEFORE they are cured can be prepared by mixing 2 parts toluene with 1 part alcohol (eg methylated spirits or denatured alcohol). In large amounts, heat can be generated during cure. Care should be taken on heat-sensitive surfaces with large amounts. Use recommended levels of hardener and resin; variation may result in incomplete cure and variations in cure time. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Features Non-corrosive Weather resistant – resistant to water, weather or marine growth Rapid setting Impact resistant – can take knocks Sandable – can be sanded after 1-2 hours Can be painted over Extended working time – up to 20 minutes at 20°C Dries Opaque Heat resistant to 100°C

What materials is this product suitable for? MDF Particleboard Plasterboard Rubber & Glass Architraves Skirting boards Cornices Timber Polystyrene Foam Concrete and Masonry Tiles and ceramics Most plastic – pre test plastic to determine compatibility How to use this product Ensure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and loose powdery materials. If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. Surfaces should not be visibly wet or constantly damp. Oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ezi Press remove cap Remove tab lock and nozzle cap. Twist collar clockwise towards MAX and adjust between MIN and MAX to control flow. Ezi Press application Simply press lever gently to dispense filler to surface. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm, on smaller surfaces apply dots. Bring surfaces together as soon as possible (within first 5 mins). Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load. Ezi Press min max Clean up with a damp cloth, twist collar back to MIN and replace nozzle cap. Allow the adhesive to set (at least 24 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. For higher initial grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow to dry for up to 5 min (no longer) before firmly joining. For porous substrates, a good bond strength is achieved after 24 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. The time it takes to form a strong bond depends on the nature and conditions of the application. In cold or damp weather and between non porous materials, the drying time is greatly extended. When the product is still wet it can be removed with warm soapy water or a damp cloth, otherwise if the product is dry it can be removed by sanding or scraping.

Sheet flooring to joists Metal or aluminium door strips to floors and walls Timber or fibre cement sheeting to cement block or brick walls Masonite / hardboard to timber or floorboards Wallboard or panelling to wood or metal frames Cork tiles to timber, fibre cement or plaster Timber flooring to yellow tongue in conjunction with mechanical fixings to avoid later squeaking What materials is this product suitable for? Timber MDF Plasterboard Plastics (Pre-test to determine suitability) Masonry Concrete Particleboard Metals Rubber Glass Tiles & ceramics How to use this product Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Surfaces to be bonded should be free of oil, grease and dust. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut end to desired opening. (Approx 5 mm diameter). WET BOND METHOD Direct a bead along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40 cm. (‘zig-zag’ beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width; eg shiplap panels.) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Wet bonds are repositionable for up to 15 mins after fitting. Allow adhesives to set (at least 8 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping.(Refer to Bond Strength Time.) CONTACT BOND METHOD – for faster grab Apply a bead to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-4 minutes before firmly joining. Surfaces should not be kept apart for longer than 10 minutes as to do so will impair bond strength Flooring: When fixing sheet flooring (e.g. particleboard), use in conjunction with flooring manufacturer’s installation specifications for minimum nailing requirements. Note: To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, use Liquid Nails Heavy Duty in conjunction with mechanical fixings. Handy tips Time for strong bond depends on nature and condition of application. In most situations^ strong bond can be achieved after 8 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. Full cure can take up to 7 days. ^Curing is achieved by evaporation of solvent. The time required to achieve the bond’s full strength is increased by: constant low temperatures; thick applications (joints) are used; wide areas are bonded; and when bonded surfaces are impervious (e.g. metals and dense timbers).

Out Of Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Selleys Butyl Mastic is a synthetic resin, butyl rubber based mastic which forms a smooth tough skin, but remains permanently plastic underneath. It is available Off White. Features Remains permanently plastic under a smooth tough skin Versatile sealant with excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates without the necessity to prime Will not bleed into porous surfaces Non-sag in joints up to 12mm vertical joint Wide service temperature: –35° to +65°C Excellent weathering characteristics Does not corrode metals Good water resistance Life expectancy is approximately 5 years in a thick joint. It is recommended to use silicone sealant in thinner joints Easy smoothing and clean-up with mineral turps or white spirits Where can this product be used? Sealing aluminium windows to masonry. Sealing joints between pre-cast concrete panels or porcelain enamelled panels. Sealing edges of all types of wallboards or wherever a permanent waterproof seal is required. Sealing lap joints between metal applications with the inclusion of fasteners. Ideal for dust proofing cars, trucks, caravans, boats, etc. and is suitable for sealing cracks and gaps around brickwork, roofing and cladding.  What materials is this product suitable for? Please contact your store to confirm avaliability, as some stores may have a limited range. The following should only be used as a guide and the installer should apply all Australian Standards, BCA/NZBC requirements, and best practices when installing. Surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, old mastic and  flaking paint. If necessary clean with degreasing solvent such as white spirits. Cut nozzle supplied at an angle and to the required opening. Cut end off nipple on cartridge, fit nozzle and insert in suitable caulking gun such as the Selleys Light Speed caulking gun. If sealing lap joints, apply suitable size bead of Butyl Mastic to one surface through the intended fasten line. Bring surfaces together squeezing the mastic bead out on both surfaces and mechanically fix join where necessary. If sealing open joints, apply Butyl Mastic by forcing it into the joint ahead of the nozzle. This method aids in properly filling the joint and forcing mastic to wet on to the sides of the joint. If required, smooth surface with spatula dipped into mineral turps. Limitations: Not an elastomeric compound, it should not be used in joints subject to considerable dynamic movement. Should not be used where joint movement will exceed ±8%. Maximum service is achieved when used within joints; it is not recommended to be used as a "skim" coating over joints. Not recommended for use in joints required to resist static air or water pressure.  Surfaces must be clean and dry. Life expectancy in joints is approximately 5 years Interior applications may have greatly extended skin over time due to the reduced presence of sunlight. Allow surface to skin before painting, i.e. approximately 24 hours after application. Butyl Mastic can be painted over using oil or water based paints after the surface has skinned.

Selleys Selleys Araldite Super Strength Epoxy Adhesive Holds 150kg Big Pack x 200ml

In Stock - Ready to ship  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

A two-part epoxy adhesive that bonds with maximum strength. Mixed product gels in 2 hours. Initial bonding is achieved in 6-8 hours with maximum bond strength after 3 days. Features Araldite is stronger than other glues due to the chemical reaction of the two parts Bonds a variety of surfaces Dries Clear Very Strong, durable bonding Very high water resistance (e.g. OK for fixing tiles around the pool, but not below the water line. For this use Selleys Knead it Aqua) Forms a rigid, durable bond Can be used for gap filling (surfaces need not mate closely) Good chemical resistance Heat Resistant Clamping is recommended to achieve a stronger bond Not suitable for bonding plastics such as Polypropylene and Polyethylene Bond strength weakens above 80°C but strength is regained when temperature drops Appearance Translucent Where can this product be used? Load bearing repairs Gluing the head back on your hammer Fixing a loose table or chair legs. Bonding solid pieces of Aluminium sheeting Bonding timber on your boat Repairing splits and cracks in Cricket bats Bonding fibreglass sheets Repairing Ski’s Fixing Dynabolts and metal rods into concrete What materials is this product suitable for? Glass Metal Wood Fabric Rigid Plastic – will not bond to Polyethylene or Polypropylene plastics Crystal Leather How to use this product Before applying the Araldite mixture, all surfaces MUST be thoroughly clean and dry. All traces of grease, rust paint, etc. should be removed. For best results, smooth surfaces should be roughened by mechanical abrasion after solvent cleaning. Onto a clean, disposable surface (e.g. polyethylene or cardboard), dispense equal volumes of Part A and Part B. Thoroughly mix together with a spatula, nail or stick. When using the tubes it is essential to use the correct mixing ratio, i.e. 1 part each Apply adhesive immediately to both surfaces and press together. Clamping is necessary while bonding sets over 6-8 hours. Scrape off excess adhesive and wipe mixing utensils immediately. When using tubes, Ensure correct caps are replaced on each tube or they will harden Handy tips For a maximum working time, mix in small quantities. Large quantities accelerate the curing process and reduce working time. To extend product life replace caps immediately after use. Ensure you wipe excess from the nozzle with a tissue dipped in acetone (or nail polish remover) before replacing the cap. When using the tube variant, ensure you replace the correct cap on the correct tube. Placing the wrong cap on the wrong tube will cause the tube to harden. (lids and tubes are colour coded to help) Wipe off any uncured Araldite with acetone or nail polish remover. To remove product after cure, mechanical action (scraping or sanding) is recommended. Since the product is chemically resistant solvent will NOT dissolve this product. To reposition the bond once cured, check that the item is heat resistant. If safe, heat the item slowly, e.g. in an oven, to at least 150oC. The product will soften and liquefy slightly. Scrape off any excess then reposition the joint carefully using appropriate safety equipment. Allow the item to cool down in the correct position. The product will reharden once returned to room temperature. Clamping recommended for a stronger bond. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using Selleys Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with Methylated Spirits. If there is old difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as Selleys Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Safety tips Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapour. Do not use solvents near eyes or open wounds. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Non-toxic when set. For further information refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Storage and re-use Ensure caps are replaced and product stored in a cool dry place.

Will not take common timber stains Aquadhere is not recommended for joints that are subjected to constant high stress. Instead, use Selleys 308 High Stress wood glue. Do not use on projects that you need to be able to sand, as Aquadhere Interior is not sandable. Will not bond MDF, we recommend using Aquadhere Exterior What materials is this product suitable for? End grain gluing Craftwork Cloth Paper Mosaics Leather Other craft materials How to use this product Surfaces to be bonded must be close fitting, free from dust, dry and clean from grease. Shake bottle before use Apply adhesive liberally to one surface only, position surfaces and press together while still wet. Immediately clamp for 30 minutes for softwoods and 1 hour for hardwoods. Alternatively, low clamping pressures (50lbs/in2) can be used with softwoods; higher pressures are recommended for hardwoods (100 – 150lbs/in2). Do not stress joint for 12 hours. Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood. Maximum strength is achieved after 12 hours, but longer in cold, damp conditions, or when used on dense timbers. Cure slows significantly in humid, cold conditions. Clean all tools with water before the adhesive is allowed to dry. If dry, soak in water until adhesive is soft. Handy tips 1L covers approx. 8m2 To fill small gaps, Aquadhere can be mixed with sawdust. Longer clamping times may be required for joints under high stress, or alternatively use Selleys 308 High-Stress Wood Glue. Avoid contaminating Aquadhere with iron and steel, eg nails, etc. Aquadhere contaminated with rust (iron oxide) will stain brown/black in the presence of tannins in many kinds of wood. On very porous surfaces applying a thin layer to each side and allowing to soaking in before applying a second layer to one side only may result in a stronger bond Cured adhesive can be softened by prolonged contact with hot water or steam. Sanding isn’t an effective way to prepare for gluing, as it often leaves an uneven surface and may clog the timber which can stop the glue from penetrating and impact on your result. A straight router can be used to trim the edge, but be sure to only remove as much as required to obtain a suitable edge for gluing. If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. Safety tips Aquadhere is considered a non-hazardous material. In case of eye contact, hold eye open and flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Storage and re-use For maximum shelf life store inside at moderate temperatures. Do not allow to freeze.
