Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there old silicone which needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER, this ingenous product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see a handy tip. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy tips Tips for Using a Brick & Concrete Silicone Sealant Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over. For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job. Safety tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing. Keep away from children. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

Where a smooth surface is required, slightly overfill the surface, allow to dry (approx. 5-6 hours), then sand smooth with medium grade sandpaper. • Leave for 24 hours, and then apply a suitable primer/undercoat before painting. • When applying in thin layers, do not over trowel. • Clean up with water before filler dries

Mild detergent solution in water is also good removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Do not use mineral spirits or paint thinner for removing contaminants. Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there is a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper or wire brush. Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be roughened using sandpaper to increase adhesion. How to clean-up after PC-Crete™ application Clean up mixed epoxy before it cures with paper towels and solvent. Denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner are suitable solvents for removing uncured epoxy. Cured epoxy can be removed with paint stripper or remover. Can PC-Crete™ be used to repair a crack in a fountain? PC-Crete™ looks like concrete and is excellent for repairing concrete fountains, statues and lawn decorations. Will PC-Crete™ adhere to a concrete step? Can it be shaped to match a corner? The package itself can be used as a mixing tray. If you flip the plastic blister shell over, you can use the small well as a starter dish to begin dispensing until both the resin and hardener are flowing equally. Once the flow is even, move to the larger mixing well to dispense your even ratio. Mix the two parts for about 20 seconds, until the mixture is uniform. Shake bottle before use Apply adhesive liberally to one surface only, position surfaces and press together while still wet. Immediately clamp for 30 minutes for softwoods and 1 hour for hardwoods. Alternatively, low clamping pressures (50lbs/in2) can be used with softwoods; higher pressures are recommended for hardwoods (100 – 150lbs/in2). Do not stress joint for 12 hours. Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood. Maximum strength is achieved after 12 hours, but longer in cold, damp conditions, or when used on dense timbers. Clean all tools with water before adhesive is allowed to dry. However, for optimum adhesion and critical, high performance applications, such as on multi-story buildings, highly stressed joints, extreme weather exposure or water immersion, the following priming and/or pretreatment procedures shall be followed: Non-porous substrates Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, PVC, galvanised steel, powder coated metals or glazed tiles have to be cleaned and pre-treated using Sika® Aktivator-205, wiped on with a clean towel. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of > 15 minutes (< 6 hours). Other metals, such as copper, brass and titanium-zinc, also have to be cleaned and pre-treated using Sika® Aktivator-205,wiped on with a clean towel. After the necessary flash-off time, use a brush to apply Sika® Primer-3 N and allow a further flash-off time of > 30minutes (< 8 hours) before sealing the joints. Porous substrates Concrete, aerated concrete and cement based renders, mortars and bricks shall be primed using Sika® Primer-3 N applied with a brush. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of > 30 minutes (< 8 hours).For more detailed advice and instructions please contact the local Sika Technical Services Department. Note: Primers are adhesion promoters. They are neither a substitute for the correct cleaning of a surface, nor do they improve the strength of the surface significantly. Bonding After substrate preparation, apply Sikaflex® Crystal Clear in beads, strips or spots to the bonding surface in intervals of a few centimetres each. Use hand pressure only to set the element to be bonded into position. If necessary, use SikaTack® Panel Tape during the initial hours of curing. An incorrectly positioned element can easily be unfastened and repositioned during the first few minutes after application. Apply pressure again. Optimum bonding will be obtained after the complete curing of Sikaflex® Crystal Clear. The recommended adhesive layer thickness (depending on surface evenness) is ≤3 mm. Fresh, uncured adhesive remaining on the surface must be removed immediately. Final strength will be obtained after complete curing of Sikaflex® Crystal Clear. Sealing After the necessary substrate preparation, insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth and apply any primer if necessary. Insert a cartridge into the sealant gun and extrude Sikaflex® Crystal Clear into the joint making sure that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoids any air entrapment. Sikaflex® Crystal Clear sealant must be firmly tooled against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion. It is recommended to use masking tape where exact joint lines or neat lines are required. Remove the tape within the skin time. Do not use tooling products containing solvents. Cleaning of Tools Clean all tools and application equipment immediately after use with Sika® Remover-208 and/or Sika® Wonder Wipes. Once cured, residual material can only be removed mechanically.

SikaBond® -TechGrip is a high strength multipurpose, polyurethane glue that provides a super strong bond to almost any substrate and is ideal for woodworking and project work. Surface treatment depends on the substrate and is crucial for durability. Refer to the current Sika® Pre-treatment Chart for Marine Applications and verify with tests on original substrates. Wood Timber How to use this product Rebates and grooves should be rigid, free from distortion, true and square, and should be clean, dry and unobstructed before glazing. Rebates and grooves should be of a size which allows adequate edge cover and putty volume. Minimum bed putty – 2mm, minimum front putty – 4mm where timber beads are used, and 2mm bed putty and 12mm front putty where no glazing beads are used. Depth of rebate: 10mm for 3-4mm glass, 15mm for 5-8mm glass. Two coats of good quality house paint should be applied not less than 2 weeks and not more than 4 weeks after completion of glazing. Paint should be carried out 2mm above the top line of the putty. Handy tips Do not use kerosene, turps or other material to aid in working the putty Allow putty to skin before applying paint Product can be applied by hand or with a putty knife. Add a few drops of linseed oil on the hands or knife to make for easier working Putty can thicken in cold weather. Warming the putty by working it in the hands before the application will soften it. Putty must be painted in exterior applications. High humidity, cold weather and use in interior applications can extend skinning times. Putty can separate on prolonged standing. Mortar Masonry Concrete Wood Stone Primed metal surfaces Brick Plaster Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose material. Using the flexible spatula provided on the lid, press the filler firmly into the crack or hole and smooth off surface; there is no need to overfill. For deeper cracks, apply in 6mm layers allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. Lightly sand back any excess filler from the surface after product dries (2-3 hours for 2mm applications). Dust off any loose dust before applying undercoat and painting with water-based paints or oil-based paints. Limitations: Product is not flexible so not suitable for use between surfaces that are subject to the structural movement - use Selleys No More Gaps. Avoid using below 5°C or in wet conditions. Painting with oil-based paints is not recommended until 24 hours after the filler has been applied. Water-based paints may be used immediately after the filler has set. If the filler is found to have stiffened prior to use, stir product. The product that has actually hardened should be discarded. If still too dry add one teaspoon of water and stir again to desired consistency. Application tools may be cleaned with water. Before painting, clean dust and filler particles using Selleys Sugar Soap or Selleys Super Kleen. In exterior applications, protect from rain until dry and painted over with 2 coats of paint. Some paints may temporarily discolour when applied over the filler, but will revert to the correct colour once dry. For applications more than 2mm deep, or in cold or humid conditions, expect longer drying times. Keep container closed when not in use.
