Selleys Fibreglass Fix Repair Kit is a complete kit containing polyester resin, a hardener and fibreglass mat, for repairs to fibreglass and a variety of other surfaces. Where can this product be used? Boat repairs including hull repairs Surfboard / Surfski repairs Automotive repairs Repairing a leaky gutter Patching downpipes Patching metal roofs or grass catchers Not approved for contact with drinking water What materials is this product suitable for? Fibreglass Plywood Metal Fibro Sheeting Most Plastics How to use this product Wear rubber or plastic gloves when handling fibreglass Surface Preparation Surfaces should be clean and dry and free from paint, grease and rust. Cut the fibreglass mat to shape, allowing approximately 3cm overlap all round. Tease out the fibres along the edge of the mat to give a feathered edge. For wide holes, glue a piece of cardboard to the back of the hole to form a base. Mixing: For each tablespoon of resin, squeeze 5 drops of hardener from the small tube and mix together thoroughly. Do not prepare the mixture until required as only a limited time (20 minutes at 20°C) is available before the product gels. Application Position the mat and apply resin/hardener mixture with a clean, dry brush. Be sure to impregnate the mat completely, working out all air bubbles. Add more mat and resin/hardener mixture to build up or contour the patch as required. Finishing When the patch has completely hardened, (approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the temperature), it can be sanded to a smooth finish. Fill imperfections with more resin. Paint if required. Clean up product with Solvent Acetone before it cures Handy tips At higher temperatures, the working time decreases. Can only be tinted with iron oxide or other dry pigments .which must be mixed in very thoroughly. Surfaces to be joined should be clean and dry. If recommended amounts of hardener are not used, cure time will vary or an incomplete cure may result. A useful solvent to clean up epoxy and polyester resins BEFORE they are cured can be prepared by mixing 2 parts toluene with 1 part alcohol (eg methylated spirits or denatured alcohol). In large amounts, heat can be generated during cure. Care should be taken on heat-sensitive surfaces with large amounts. Use recommended levels of hardener and resin; variation may result in incomplete cure and variations in cure time. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Features Non-corrosive Weather resistant – resistant to water, weather or marine growth Rapid setting Impact resistant – can take knocks Sandable – can be sanded after 1-2 hours Can be painted over Extended working time – up to 20 minutes at 20°C Dries Opaque Heat resistant to 100°C

Fast setting liquid supa glue in a self-standing bottle with brush applicator. Dries clear. Features Bonds a variety of surfaces Extremely fast setting Dries Clear for clean, neat results Water resistant No clamping necessary No mixing required Maximum strength achieved in 12 hours Only takes 45 seconds to achieve an initial bond Ideal for craft and collage applications Forms a rigid bond Easy to spread over wider areas from a stable self-standing bottle Where can this product be used? Useful for jobs with a wide surface area in both a repair and create capacity. Water resistant, not waterproof, therefore not suitable for surfaces that will be continually wet Not suitable for bonding plastics such as Polypropylene and Polyethylene. Leather may become hardened or discoloured For interior use only Not suitable for repairing items that are in direct contact with hot liquids Will not permanently bond glass or materials containing alkaline elements. Has no gap filling properties, therefore, surfaces need to be a close fit Not recommended for highly porous surfaces What materials is this product suitable for? Bonds a variety of porous and non-porous surfaces Metals China Rubber Leather Some plastics How to use this product Supa Glue works best when the surfaces to be bonded are close fitting. Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free of dust. Remove cap and apply a small amount of glue to one surface. Bring surfaces together and apply slight pressure. The product grabs within 10-60 seconds, depending on environmental conditions and substrates to be bonded. Allow 30 minutes for sufficient bond strength for practical use. Ensure cap is replaced immediately after applying adhesive, as this prolongs the life of brush applicator. Handy tips Cyanoacrylate adhesives can create a white residue on the surface of a substrate if the area is not well ventilated. Clean the affected area with acetone to remove residue. For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Excellent when used with other adhesives, as the temporary tack For best results, ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, free of dust, dry and close fitting In the event that fingers get stuck together – don’t panic! Slowly twist fingers in opposite direction in hot soapy water. Acetone (nail polish remover) or Olive oil can also be used to remove Quick Fix from the skin. While superglue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer. Since Quick Fix cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions. Super glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly. To remove excess from substrates, it is recommended that the material is soaked in a solution of acetone and water (i.e. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Where soaking is not possible, try placing a piece of absorbent material (eg cotton wool) soaked in acetone on the excess for 5 to 10 minutes, topping up the acetone if it evaporates. Gently rub the surface with the material to remove the residues. TEST THE SURFACE IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT to ensure it is unaffected by acetone before attempting removal using this method. Safety tips Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapour. Quick Fix Supa glue bonds on contact, if fingers should stick together, apply a solvent such as acetone to affected areas and wash off with water. If no solvent is available wash area with warm soapy water and work fingers apart. Do not use solvents near eyes or open wounds. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Non-toxic when set Quick Fix is non-hazardous once cured. Where Quick Fix residues are on the skin, it is recommended that the skin be soaked in warm to hot water to allow easy removal. It is not advisable to try to remove the cured adhesive by pulling and scraping the skin as this will only serve to damage the skin. Alternatively, rub in hand cream or vegetable oil to accelerate the natural process of the skin sloughing off to remove the residue. Where immediate adhesive removal is considered necessary apply a solvent such as acetone (nail polish remover) then wash off with soapy water. Apply hand cream to replace naturals oils in the skin. Storage and re-use After use, tap bottle lightly on a flat surface to clear excess product from the nozzle. Ensure cap is replaced and store in a cool dry place. Store Upright. For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
