Mortar Masonry Concrete Wood Stone Primed metal surfaces Brick Plaster Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose material. Using the flexible spatula provided on the lid, press the filler firmly into the crack or hole and smooth off surface; there is no need to overfill. For deeper cracks, apply in 6mm layers allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. Lightly sand back any excess filler from the surface after product dries (2-3 hours for 2mm applications). Dust off any loose dust before applying undercoat and painting with water-based paints or oil-based paints. Limitations: Product is not flexible so not suitable for use between surfaces that are subject to the structural movement - use Selleys No More Gaps. Avoid using below 5°C or in wet conditions. Painting with oil-based paints is not recommended until 24 hours after the filler has been applied. Water-based paints may be used immediately after the filler has set. If the filler is found to have stiffened prior to use, stir product. The product that has actually hardened should be discarded. If still too dry add one teaspoon of water and stir again to desired consistency. Application tools may be cleaned with water. Before painting, clean dust and filler particles using Selleys Sugar Soap or Selleys Super Kleen. In exterior applications, protect from rain until dry and painted over with 2 coats of paint. Some paints may temporarily discolour when applied over the filler, but will revert to the correct colour once dry. For applications more than 2mm deep, or in cold or humid conditions, expect longer drying times. Keep container closed when not in use.

Also, some water based undercoats and paints shrink during drying and as Polyfilla Gap Filler is flexible, it won't stop cracks appearing in the shrinking paint on its surface. About the formulaA cream polyester resin paste that you mix with the supplied hardener to start the cure. Crommelin Pond Sealer Clear is a water-based, clear waterproofing membrane for sealing above-ground ponds, bird baths and ornamental water features, supplied here in a 1L pail. It goes on as a seamless coating and dries to a clear, low-sheen finish, so the look of the concrete, render or brickwork underneath is kept. It is designed to stay watertight under permanently wet conditions on structures that don't move.About the formulaA ready-to-use, water-based membrane that is non-toxic and safe for fish and plants. The manufacturer's technical data sheet also lists it as suitable for collecting or storing drinking water. It is UV stable, dries quickly and has excellent adhesion to porous cement-based surfaces. Repairs are easy, and tools wash up with water. It dries clear and hard, so it is meant for solid structures without joins, internal corners or expected movement. Where there are existing holes or cracks, or movement is expected, Crommelin recommends its Pond Sealer Colours membrane instead.Where to use itIndoors: ornamental water features, indoor fountains and other solid, porous water-holding features that won't flex.Outdoors: new or renovated above-ground fish ponds, bird baths, and ornamental water features built from concrete, render, brick or block.Suitable surfaces include concrete, cement render, brickwork, concrete blocks and other cementitious substrates. It is not suitable for non-porous surfaces.How to use itSurfaces must be clean, sound and completely dry, and free of dust, grease, curing compounds, release agents, loose particles, efflorescence and laitance. Repair any loose or crumbly areas first with a suitable repair mortar. To check porosity, wet a small area. If it darkens, the surface is porous and can be sealed. If it doesn't, it is too dense to seal. Stir the sealer well before use and apply with a brush or roller. Apply when surface and air temperatures are between 10 and 35°C and humidity stays at or below 85%. First coat: mix equal parts sealer and water, then apply a thin, even coat. Allow about 15 minutes to dry. Second coat: apply un-thinned sealer over the surface and let it dry. Third coat: apply un-thinned sealer at right angles (90 degrees) to the first coat. Wash brushes and rollers in water before the sealer dries. Important notesRecoat after about 4 hours. Full cure takes about 7 days, and good airflow helps. Keep the coating away from moisture until it has fully cured, and protect it from damage before filling with water. Not suitable for use in chlorinated water. Do not apply it to non-porous surfaces. It is not intended for in-ground ponds or for structures with cracks or movement. Don't apply in extreme heat, cold or humidity. Coverage depends on how porous the surface is. Gyprock Masonry Adhesive is a dry powder adhesive made for fixing plasterboard directly to masonry and concrete walls, supplied here in a 20kg bag for full-room and trade-sized jobs. You mix it with water on site to a firm, creamy paste. It is also used to fix plaster cornice and decorative plaster castings to plasterboard walls and ceilings in residential and commercial buildings.About the formulaThis is a plaster-based, setting-type compound rather than a drying type. Once mixed, it has a working life of about 40 to 45 minutes before it starts to set. The manufacturer designs it for strong adhesion and good initial grab, and it is easy to spread by hand with a small broadknife. It is made in Australia by CSR Gyprock. The manufacturer lists a very low VOC content of 2g/L (as specified by GBCA) and notes the product is GECA accredited.Where to use itIndoors: direct-fixing plasterboard sheets to brick, block and concrete internal walls, and fixing plaster cornice and plaster castings to plasterboard walls and ceilings.Outdoors: not intended for external use. It is an internal wall lining adhesive.Suitable surfaces include brick, concrete and other masonry, plus plasterboard for cornice and casting work. Remove any paint from the areas where the adhesive will be applied.How to use itPour the powder slowly into clean domestic water and mix to a firm, creamy consistency. The manufacturer's guide is roughly 3kg of powder to 1.5 litres of water. Mix only what you can use within the working life, and never mix or re-work adhesive once it has begun to set or dry. For plasterboard, apply daubs of about 50mm diameter that stand out at least 15mm from the wall. Keep daubs no more than 450mm apart horizontally and vertically, and keep them about 50mm in from sheet ends and edges. You can apply daubs to either the wall or the back of the sheet. Position the board and hold it in place until the adhesive sets. Use levelling pads where wall irregularities exceed 15mm. Always follow the current Gyprock installation guides for full fixing details.Important notesNot suitable for use on wet area plasterboard in tiled areas. Use only clean domestic water for mixing. Keep fresh batches free from contamination and do not mix with set or drying material. The bag is non re-sealable, so plan the quantity you need. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture when the bags are stored dry, out of the weather and away from direct sunlight.
