Selleys Selleys Spakfilla Heavy Duty For Large Cracks Int & Ext 435g

In Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Selleys Spakfilla Heavy Duty is a multi-purpose, tough and durable, light grey ready-mixed filler.  Features Suitable for interior and exterior applications Good adhesions to most surfaces Water and weather resistant Fill cracks and holes in a single application Pre-mixed and ready to use Minimal shrinkage so no need to overfill Very fast drying allowing sanding and painting in a short time period Comes complete with a filling spatula for ease of use Water-based, so can be cleaned up with water Paintable with oil and water-based paints Where can this product be used? Filling holes, dents, cracks or chips in interior and exterior applications where no structural movement occurs    What materials is this product suitable for? Mortar Masonry Concrete Wood Stone Primed metal surfaces Brick Plaster Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose material. Using the flexible spatula provided on the lid, press the filler firmly into the crack or hole and smooth off surface; there is no need to overfill. For deeper cracks, apply in 6mm layers allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. Lightly sand back any excess filler from the surface after product dries (2-3 hours for 2mm applications). Dust off any loose dust before applying undercoat and painting with water-based paints or oil-based paints.  Limitations: Product is not flexible so not suitable for use between surfaces that are subject to the structural movement - use Selleys No More Gaps. Avoid using below 5°C or in wet conditions. Painting with oil-based paints is not recommended until 24 hours after the filler has been applied. Water-based paints may be used immediately after the filler has set. If the filler is found to have stiffened prior to use, stir product. The product that has actually hardened should be discarded. If still too dry add one teaspoon of water and stir again to desired consistency. Application tools may be cleaned with water. Before painting, clean dust and filler particles using Selleys Sugar Soap or Selleys Super Kleen. In exterior applications, protect from rain until dry and painted over with 2 coats of paint. Some paints may temporarily discolour when applied over the filler, but will revert to the correct colour once dry. For applications more than 2mm deep, or in cold or humid conditions, expect longer drying times. Keep container closed when not in use.

Features Easy to use Strong Flexible Bond Weather resistant Impact resistant Appearance Dries yellowish/beige Where can this product be used? Leather Canvas Fabric Rubber Cork Most Plastics EVA foam (e.g Desert boots sole) How to use this product Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt or grease. Keep apart until the adhesive film is almost dry (approx. 10 – 20 minutes). Carefully line up surfaces to be joined and press surfaces firmly together. Bonds immediately on contact. Selleys Selleys No More Gaps Exterior Hi-Flex weather Protection White x 130g

In Stock  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Selleys No More Gaps Exterior is a specially formulated flexible gap filler, with superior weather, UV and mould resistance to protect against harsh external elements such as rain, wind and UV rays. It can be painted over with both water and oil based paints, so you can give your house the professional finish it deserves. Also available in easy tube format. Features Superior flexibility to cope with building movement, meaning the cracks and gaps will be hidden for longer. Has greater than 500% elongation/stretch and up to +/- 25% joint movement capability. Superior adhesion to a broad range of surfaces, resulting in a lasting finish. Has good resistance to weathering Contains a titanium compound for superior UV resistance. Contains a fungicide and algaecide to protect against unsightly mould and algae growth. Can be painted over with both water and oil based paints, after the surface has skinned. (Approximately 30 minutes after application).. Wide joints are best left for 48 hours before painting as some paints shrink during drying that can cause the paint to crack. Is formulated for long term resistance to cracking and crumbling. Is water based, so can be cleaned up with water. Will not stain building materials. Where can this product be used? Between exterior window and door frames Fascia boards and eaves Masonry Walls Tiling Timber & synthetic weatherboards Brickwork Fences Where shrinkage or movement has caused rigid fillers to crack Gaps with a maximum width of 25mm & depth of 12mm What materials is this product suitable for? Timber Brick & Concrete Fibre cement sheeting, plasterboard Masonry Ceramic Tiles Glass Aluminium & other metals Many other building surfaces How To Use Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease, flaking/powdery paint and old or crumbling caulk. Cut seal and nozzle and fit to cartridge. Insert into a quality caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed caulking gun. Apply with caulking gun, forcing product into gap. Smooth with a wet spatula, ensuring sufficient product remains in joint. Clean up with a damp cloth immediately. Allow to skin (about 30 minutes) before painting with water-based paints. If oil-based paints are to be used, or if gaps are large, allow sealant to set for about 24 hours and ensure the product is completely cured. Protect from water until firmly skinned. Allow for longer skin and cure times in damp conditions. Limitations: For new weatherboard, check weatherboard manufacturers instructions before using this product Note that in very harsh conditions, joints between boards may expand beyond products movement capability. In such cases re-apply product and paint over. Not suitable for areas of continuous water immersion eg ponds Not suitable for application at below 5°C Protect from rain until the product has firmly skinned, and allow longer skin and cure times in damp conditions. Handy Tips Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of gap filler. If you are going to wipe off the excess gap filler with a wet finger, ensure you wet your finger with water and not saliva, as saliva contains bacteria and this will increase the chances of mould growing in your gap filler. Allow the surfaces to skin prior to painting, which is approximately 30 minutes. Protect from rain until firmly skinned. Allow for longer skin and cure times in damp conditions. Some water based under coats and flat paints may crack on drying. To reduce this effect, allow the product to cure for 24 hours in small gaps or 48 hours in larger gaps before painting with such paints. For maximum durability on bare exterior surfaces, apply a coat of acrylic paint and allow to dry, before applying this gap sealant. Always paint over with a quality exterior paint. To ensure you get a professional finish ensure you paint with a good quality paint and paint brush. Painting with a good brush ensures the finish and durability of the paint is increased. We recommend a 50mm Edger Brush, as the cut angle of the bristles takes the work out of applying paint. Keep a pack of Selleys Sugar Soap Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job.

Selleys N Mastic is a non-hardening, waterproof sealing putty designed for a wide range of applications where long-lasting flexibility is crucial. Ideal for sealing joints, gaps around windows, and roofing, it ensures that structures remain protected from water ingress. The unique formula remains pliable, making it perfect for environments where movement and expansion are expected. Whether you're sealing an outdoor roof gutter, securing window frames, or filling gaps in an air conditioning system, Selleys N Mastic provides a professional-grade finish with no cracking or crumbling. The product is also suitable for metal, glass, concrete, and brick, making it a versatile solution for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. N-Mastic is a non-skinning polybutene-based compound. It will remain permanently soft and paste-like. Uses N-Mastic is suitable for sealing concealed lap joints between plastics, metals, timber, glass, masonry, and expanded foam panels. It may be used in the installation of cool rooms, prefabricated construction and gasket sealed windscreens to exclude draughts and water penetration through joints in materials. Technical Features Non-hardening – remains permanently flexible to provide a lasting seal Good adhesion – adheres well to most substrates Moisture resistance – provides an excellent barrier to moisture vapour Microbe resistance – resists microbial attack Low shrinkage – avoids the risk of sealant pulling away from joint surfaces Wide service temperatures – withstands –40oC to +80oC service conditions Application Tips Due to the non-skinning, non-hardening nature of the sealant, N-Mastic should not be used in exposed joints where dirt pick-up or hand contact can be a problem. As N-Mastic is not elastomeric, it should not be used in areas subject to considerable dynamic stress. Although N-Mastic is resistant to static pressures, a curing sealant is recommended where this is a critical factor. N-Mastic is not recommended for sealing lap joints in mobile homes, truck bodies, etc., as significant vibration and flexing occur during travel. A solvent-based, heat resistant, flexible contact adhesive suitable for bonding both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces. It forms an instant bond on contact of two surfaces. The gel form allows application without dripping or ‘stringing’. Great for vertical surfaces. Features Heat resistance up to 130C No clamping required Suitable for interior and exterior jobs Cured adhesive is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis Immediate set on contact. Maximum strength after 24 hours Gel Grip has a thicker consistency than Kwik Grip and so is ideal for vertical applications as it won’t run Gel form prevents running or stringing Easy to spread by brush and ideal for use on vertical surfaces Where can this product be used? Vertical surfaces where dripping and running is a concern Bonding veneers of timber and laminated plastics, eg. Laminex and Formica to bench or table tops Areas where clamping or pressing facilities are either not available or difficult to use Patching vinyl Flooring Replacing a vinyl tile Cork tiling Laying a vinyl floor Fixing laminate to tables, benchtops etc Repairing canvas tents and outdoor equipment Bonding metal or laminate sheeting Replacing trim, rubbers and weather seals in cars Adhering flexible or other material to Aluminium Joining, repairing holes in tents, car covers etc Some plastics such as vinyl sheeting and polystyrene are attacked by Gel Grip. Test in an inconspicuous area prior to application. Can cause discolouration and bubbling when used for vinyl flooring materials, seek the advice of flooring material manufacturer before using Gel Grip. We recommend Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications Contains highly flammable solvent and care should be taken to ensure all fire precautions are observed. Cannot be used for application in temperatures below 10oC. Suitable for porous materials but not for rough, ill-fitting surfaces. (Consider the suitability of alternative products such as Liquid Nails for rough ill-fitting surfaces). What materials is this product suitable for? Cork Rubber Felt Canvas Leather Metals Timber Laminated plastics (laminex, formica) Hardboard Compressed board How to use this product Ensure that surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from grease or paint. Cut laminated plastic sheet slightly oversize all round. Completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep apart until touch dry – no more than 40 minutes. Position the items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels or heavy craft paper and working from one edge press surfaces firmly together. Secure bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or else by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block. For bonding other materials, apply as for laminated plastics above. When small surface areas are to be joined a wet bond may be used. Simply apply Gel Grip to one surface then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy tips Care should be taken to test plastics prior to use as solvents present will attack some grades such as polystyrene and sheet vinyl. Use Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications. Keep container sealed when not in use. Coverage – up to 5 square metres/litre (bonded area 2.5 square metres/litre) depending on porosity of surfaces and thickness of applications For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Cured adhesive is very difficult to remove. Tools and other equipment on which Gel Grip has dried may be cleaned by soaking in Toluol or lacquer thinner. Excess adhesive on the face of the jointed materials may also be removed with solvent, but care should be taken that the materials themselves are not damaged by the solvent. Safety tips Ensure thorough ventilation when using. Avoid using in a confined space for prolonged periods. Use Kwik Grip Advanced as a low fume alternative. Avoid skin contact as solvents in Gel Grip have a degreasing effect and may result in irritation. If in eyes flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Seek medical advice. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126 or New Zealand 0800 764 766. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give a glass of water. Highly flammable. Do not use in the same area as flame, fire or spark producing apparatus or machinery. This product should NOT be accessible to juveniles, because of its solvent content. For further information refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which can be found at this site. Storage and re-use Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Cartridge: Cut tip and attach nozzle. Insert in the caulking gun. Cut nozzle to the size required for joint. Application: Extrude sealant smoothly into the joint, while ensuring that all substrates are well wetted out with sealant. Curing: The sealant cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture; therefore cure rate is dependent on humidity, ambient temperature and joint size. Typically, the sealant will form a thick skin within 24 hours and full cure can be expected after 7 days. In dry or cool conditions the sealant cure will be longer. Painting: Paintable with water-based paints after product skins (60 – 90 min). Allow longer times before painting in colder weather. Paint within 12 hours of application. Solvent-based paints may be used after first painting with a water-based paint. Due to a large number of paints and varnishes available, a preliminary test of compatibility is recommended. Joint Design For fire rating, joint width should be between 20mm and 40mm. Minimum joint depth should be 10mm or half the width for joints wider than 20mm.  A tight-fitting non-absorbent, non-adhering backing material should be used to ensure the correct dimensions and prevent three-surface adhesion. Suitable materials include open cell foam backer rod or bond-breaking tape.  Clean Up The uncured product can be removed with mineral turpentine. Cured product can be removed by mechanical action. Use Poly Cleaning Wipes to remove sealant from the skin. Handy Hints In dry conditions, surfaces can be misted with water to speed up cure. Limitations Not for permanent water immersion or below water-line use Not suitable for use on polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon.

Selleys Fibreglass Fix Repair Kit is a complete kit containing polyester resin, a hardener and fibreglass mat, for repairs to fibreglass and a variety of other surfaces. Where can this product be used? Boat repairs including hull repairs Surfboard / Surfski repairs Automotive repairs Repairing a leaky gutter Patching downpipes Patching metal roofs or grass catchers Not approved for contact with drinking water What materials is this product suitable for? Fibreglass Plywood Metal Fibro Sheeting Most Plastics How to use this product Wear rubber or plastic gloves when handling fibreglass Surface Preparation Surfaces should be clean and dry and free from paint, grease and rust. Cut the fibreglass mat to shape, allowing approximately 3cm overlap all round. Tease out the fibres along the edge of the mat to give a feathered edge. For wide holes, glue a piece of cardboard to the back of the hole to form a base. Mixing: For each tablespoon of resin, squeeze 5 drops of hardener from the small tube and mix together thoroughly. Do not prepare the mixture until required as only a limited time (20 minutes at 20°C) is available before the product gels. Application Position the mat and apply resin/hardener mixture with a clean, dry brush. Be sure to impregnate the mat completely, working out all air bubbles. Add more mat and resin/hardener mixture to build up or contour the patch as required. Finishing When the patch has completely hardened, (approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the temperature), it can be sanded to a smooth finish. Fill imperfections with more resin. Paint if required. Clean up product with Solvent Acetone before it cures Handy tips At higher temperatures, the working time decreases. Can only be tinted with iron oxide or other dry pigments .which must be mixed in very thoroughly. Surfaces to be joined should be clean and dry. If recommended amounts of hardener are not used, cure time will vary or an incomplete cure may result. A useful solvent to clean up epoxy and polyester resins BEFORE they are cured can be prepared by mixing 2 parts toluene with 1 part alcohol (eg methylated spirits or denatured alcohol). In large amounts, heat can be generated during cure. Care should be taken on heat-sensitive surfaces with large amounts. Use recommended levels of hardener and resin; variation may result in incomplete cure and variations in cure time. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Features Non-corrosive Weather resistant – resistant to water, weather or marine growth Rapid setting Impact resistant – can take knocks Sandable – can be sanded after 1-2 hours Can be painted over Extended working time – up to 20 minutes at 20°C Dries Opaque Heat resistant to 100°C

Sheet flooring to joists Metal or aluminium door strips to floors and walls Timber or fibre cement sheeting to cement block or brick walls Masonite / hardboard to timber or floorboards Wallboard or panelling to wood or metal frames Cork tiles to timber, fibre cement or plaster Timber flooring to yellow tongue in conjunction with mechanical fixings to avoid later squeaking What materials is this product suitable for? Timber MDF Plasterboard Plastics (Pre-test to determine suitability) Masonry Concrete Particleboard Metals Rubber Glass Tiles & ceramics How to use this product Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Surfaces to be bonded should be free of oil, grease and dust. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut end to desired opening. (Approx 5 mm diameter). WET BOND METHOD Direct a bead along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40 cm. (‘zig-zag’ beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width; eg shiplap panels.) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Wet bonds are repositionable for up to 15 mins after fitting. Allow adhesives to set (at least 8 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping.(Refer to Bond Strength Time.) CONTACT BOND METHOD – for faster grab Apply a bead to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-4 minutes before firmly joining. Surfaces should not be kept apart for longer than 10 minutes as to do so will impair bond strength Flooring: When fixing sheet flooring (e.g. particleboard), use in conjunction with flooring manufacturer’s installation specifications for minimum nailing requirements. Note: To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, use Liquid Nails Heavy Duty in conjunction with mechanical fixings. Handy tips Time for strong bond depends on nature and condition of application. In most situations^ strong bond can be achieved after 8 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. Full cure can take up to 7 days. ^Curing is achieved by evaporation of solvent. The time required to achieve the bond’s full strength is increased by: constant low temperatures; thick applications (joints) are used; wide areas are bonded; and when bonded surfaces are impervious (e.g. metals and dense timbers).

Low odour so can be used in any environment without discomfort. 25 year guarantee – when used as directed, i.e. for private use and within 12 months of purchase, the product is guaranteed against crumbling, cracking or drying. Colour Grey Appearance Smooth Where can this product be used? joints in brick walls expansion joints in concrete Perfect for use on or around: Walls Patios Floors Fencing Windows Expansion joints in concrete. Can not be painted over. Not suitable for use in below waterline applications. Do not use in below ground applications. Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon. Pre-test plastics before use. What materials is this product suitable for? Bricks and mortar Ceramics and porcelain Concrete Fibre cement Marble & stone Metal Wood Many plastics including polystyrene How to use this product Throughly clean and dry surface from oil, dirt and grease with Mineral Turpentine firstly and then Methylated Spirits. Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there old silicone which needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER, this ingenous product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see a handy tip. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy tips Tips for Using a Brick & Concrete Silicone Sealant Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over. For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job. Safety tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing. Keep away from children. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.
